Hey remember this guy? (Vince Young)

Now??

There's a few other earlier incidents where the label was tattooed on him.

Yes but even then many still defended him.

Dude is almost 30 and the concept of a loan is baffling to him. No wonder his game always broke down to "run", he's clearly too stupid to learn an NFL playbook.

That and there was a major work ethic issue. There was several weeks where he even missed a practice/event or two.

That cheese cake from the Cheese Cake factory really added up.

Bud destroyed the Titans in drafting VY.

Bud has destroyed the Titans in many more ways than that.

The draft decision wasn't just him. Floyd Reese, in case you don't remember, was pretty much in love with VY.

I'm seriously shocked Green Bay brought him in, but maybe he can grab the 3rd string spot.

I thought that it meant they weren't terribly comfortable with any of the backups they have on roster (not to say he's better, would be guaranteed to take the number 2 spot, or anything such)

Honestly, if I recall correctly, the front office and coaching staff were pretty much split between wanting either Vince Young (Owner, GM, others in the coaching staff and Front Office) or Matt Leinart (Fisher, other members of the front office, members of the coaching staff, etc)...I'm not sure, considering what would have been the most likely alternative taken, that it would have played out any better.

Why do idiots like VY get paid millions to play a game while the rest of us sad sacks toil away in our own brilliant but obscure lives?

People will always pay for entertainment that takes their minds off their daily lives/problems. Just kind of the nature of the masses.

Because he is in an industry that us sad sacks pay a lot of money to watch

Oh I know it means they think the current crop of potential backups aren't making them feel great, but I think you have to be a tad desperate to call up a headcase like Young, who hasn't even taken a snap in a year.

I guess it could be worse, they could have called JaMarcus Russell.

In hindsight, yes-maybe. In reality at that point in time, no.

No as his resume wasn't as good as Leinhart nor VY. Jay never won a Heisman, led a team to a NC, nor played on a team with a record above .500. He never even played in a post season game.

Yes, now that things have played out Jay is clearly better than the two (but that's not saying much).

Maybe because its not like the Titans have a history of developing QBs into elite status or surrounding their QBs with reliable WRs. I know, I know. You'll say "what about McNair?" eh, debatable. He was above average IMO. Relied too much on his TEs.

My guess if we had got Jay he'd be more like Locker is right now. Lots of potential, slow to grow.

The Titans just aren't that good at drafting QBs. Cutler has always been more accurate than Locker is.
