Every year I post this little thread before games. What are the one or two things you're looking for in today's game that no one is really talking about? I know that we don't need anything special to get the win for this game, but what is something that you're hoping shows up on the radar today that makes you feel good going into the rest of the season?

For me: I want to see Peyton Lewis and the kicking game (a field goal or two that are challenging makes) because we will need it moving forward this season in tight games.

I don’t want to see more than 1 field goal today. Our wr’s should be running wide open and free today. I want to see our defensive backfield shut down their passing game

Haha. I do. Only bc I think our kicker needs live game reps. If it’s the second half I won’t be surprised if we run a dive on 3rd & long so that we can potentially see how our kicker is from 35-55. But otherwise, I hope you’re right too.

Like most folks, and this is NOT anything people aren't talking about, for me it comes down to Nico and the DBs.

If Nico is poised and quick with his decisions running the O, and the DBs are shutting down receivers (even while we know the faster opponents come starting 3 weeks from now), then I'll be a happy camper.

Go Vols!

I don't care what Bud Lite does with their cans. I don't drink the crap. They can put rainbows back on their cans for all I care. There are much better beers to drink.

I want to see the Waterboy sack the opposing QB

Actually - a hidden key might be to get out of this game with no injuries.

I just want to see us dominate the line of scrimmages. Nico should have a clean jersey, we should be popping 8-15 yard carries every 4 to 5 rush attempts. We should bottle up their running game and cause their defense fits. I'm not going to be upset if we blow a coverage due to communication or if a couple deep balls from Nico is off time

The first key to victory is: Don't beat yourself because UTC can't beat you.

The second key is: Do not get significant injuries in these early games before we start the SEC season.

Hanging 50-60-70 on UTC or Kent State would be great fun, but risking losing guys who'll be needed for the SEC schedule isn't worth it. Let the 2s run the show after the initial shock and awe show.
