This is so cool.

A rare species of wild dog feared to be extinct for the last 50 years has been rediscovered in the mountains of New Guinea.

These dogs are similar to the New Guinea Singing Dog and the Australian Dingo, and researchers say the discovery marks and ‘incredible opportunity for science.’

‘It is our best example of a proto-canid and is truly a living fossil,’ according to the New Guinea Highlands Wild Dog Foundation.

‘It is the apex predator of New Guinea and the most important canid in existence. The HWD is the missing link species between the first early canids and the modern domestic dogs.'

I'm sure that the transition from desolate volcanic mountain environment to your home would be easily facilitated with a few days crating and some stern glances.

That's cool. Makes you wonder what else is out there they may not be extinct or even possibly undiscovered.

Still a strong contingency saying the Tasmanian tigers are not extinct

I watched some show a few years ago about those. People saying they had seen, or been attacked by them or something.

After watching some ancient H2 footage I note that the Highland kiwi dog looks a lot like the Egyptian Annubis in the face. Clearly we are dealing with an ancient alien.

Looks very similar to the Basenji of Africa. Seems like almost all pariah dogs share a very familiar look. We have our own pariah dog in this country also, the Carolina Dog found in the southeast, mostly coastal areas.
