Hilarious diary of the Florida game

15. Lofton drains two threes in about twenty seconds. 36-31 Florida. Would it be wrong for me to suggest that UT should enter into a contractual agreement to take legal title to all of Chris Lofton’s sperm and sign up a host of tall women to bear his children?

32. Noah has a bandaid under his eye. Don’t you just know tomorrow in class he’s going to be wearing a camouflage band aid and when asked why camouflage say something like, “Because I’m a soldier.”

38. Lee Humphrey to the line and he hits two free throws. The bike accident story has to be the most underreported SEC injury of the year. An actual bike accident? The most remarkable thing about this to me, is that if you asked a random SEC basketball fan who the most likely player in the league to be injured on a bike was, 98% of people would pick Lee Humphrey

52. Brewer with the miss from three and…Lofton to the line after being tackled. Oh my god, this is actually happening. We are going to win the SEC East. Lofton drains the first. Timeout. On the sideline the camera catch Bruce Pearl saying, “Ok, when he makes this one…” Is there anything a true UT fan wouldn’t do for Bruce Pearl right now? He could definitely have my kidney.

That's good stuff! :eek:lol:

he does a game diary from the UT football games that are televised. He did a game diary on the UK basketball game as well. He's 2-0!

Overall, that was very entertaining.

41. "The Florida fans demonstrate why they have the least class of any SEC program by cheering his injury. 64-60 Vols."

I was there, and that is not what happened. When, Patterson went down, it was rather quiet in there. When he tried to get up on his own and went back down, the crowd, and in particular, the student section, yelled a collective "Oh!" When he was helped off the court, he got a loud cheer with applause.

48. "Watson snags a rebound and Noah once again tries to strip the ball away. This time Noah takes a forearm shiver to the face. Blood is everywhere. This is what happens when no fouls are called for reaching in. Noah should mail his missing teeth to the SEC Commissioner of officiating. Watson draws the charge foul."

Good point. That was so late in the game, I had forgotten about how the officiating (foul calls) had been. It is easier to forget, though, when we are winning.

49. "Brewer ties the game at 69 on a three from the corner but JaJuan Smith answers immediately with a three of his own. 72-69 Vols. If there was any UT fan who was rooting for this shot to be taken you are completely lying. I think I am going to come undone here. Bradshaw steps on the end line just as he makes a steal. If my heart rate was checked right now, I would be in the midst of a cardiovascular workout that knows no bounds."

Smith nailed a game-clinching three with 1:00 left from the exact same spot against Vandy. He missed that shot in another game that we still won, Georgia I think. Anyhow, yeah, my good buddy, I rooted for that shot to be taken. And, when I saw how cocky Smith looked with the way he kicked his legs as he jumped to shoot, I had no doubt that it was going in. And, I am not lying.

If Pearl called right now and told me start running sprints, I probably would.

53. "Lofton drills the second free throw to put the Vols up by 4 with 2.6 seconds remaining. Just outrageous, we win 76-72. I am damn near speechless, I know not what to write. Basically this is already the best UT basketball season of my life and it’s not even March yet."

I couldn't agree more. Great job posting this guy's diary.

It sounded on TV like a lot of booing was happening. Maybe someone real close to the mike.

Good stuff. There's a guy on ESPN's Page 2 website that will do running diaries like that from time to time. Cool to see one done about UT.

It did sound like booing. To add I was in sports bar in Orlando and the Gator fans at one table were laughing and cheering at injury. Pissed me off and I let them know it. That may happen everywhere but don't do it in front of me no matter what colors you wear. Classless. Just cheer for a good game.
