Hilarious quotes from Mack Brown

Maybe if he had that extra "22 minutes" of the game the Buckeyes could have tacked on another TD. Both teams have to play by these rules, it isn't like it only affects one team.

I don't like the new rules either, but I didn't get the feeling that Ohio St was in any danger of losing, even if the game had been 22 quarters longer.

I knida like the new rule now, heck, a few more minutes of that AF offense and we might be 1-1!

The rule really does help a team trying to kill the clock at the end of the game. It not only takes away plays in the long run, it forces the team that is behind to use an extra timeout.

Speaking of time outs. CPF should have called a timeout after two penalties. It then turned into three mistakes in a row.

1. Delay of Game (5yds)
2. Procedure penatly (5yds)
3. Ainge throws interception.

Only time really the offense screwed up all day.

Texas fans generally know they got beat on the field. Had nothing to do with the clock. Mack should learn to hold his comments after a loss like that to himself. Count to ten and take deep breaths. He sounded like a complete moron.

This is another case of the headline not matching the copy. Mack never blamed the outcome of the game on the rule changes, he just doesn't like it.

He didn't?

"They scored with six minutes left and the game was over before we had a chance to do anything," Brown said. "I really hope whoever made these changes will go back and look them over."

Yes. Ohio State scored with 6 minutes left to go up by 17 points. 17 POINTS!! That's 3 scores! Just when, exactly, was Mack Brown planning to unleash his lethal Texas scoring machine on the Buckeyes? The old rules would not have helped Texas. Perhaps rather than bitching about the new rules, Mack should have coached his team well enough that his players didn't get their asses kicked for the first three and half quarters of the game. Then he wouldn't have had to worry about the clock running out before he could erase a 17-point deficit. Hell, Mack Brown's whining would at least be a little more convincing if his team had managed to score AT LEAST ONCE IN THOSE FINAL 6 MINUTES...or at least once in the ENTIRE SECOND HALF!!!

sour grapes.

Like it or not the rule change is effective in shortening the game by about 20 minutes.

Context of quote or not, Mack is, by far, one of the classier coaches in college football.

I'm not sure that he was blaming the loss on this. He's smarter than that. The longer the game went on, the worse TX looked.

Nevertheless, I was afraid of the "post-Vince-Young" team. Unfortunately, our offensive coordinator's deficiencies have been masked by the greatness of Vince of 2 1/2 years.

Good luck against Florida...

Mack needs to get someone in that secondary that could have stopped the OSU receiver Gonzalez. Man he killed them all night!:good!:

How true it is (post Vince blues)... and the masses will return to hating on Greg Davis, fair or not.
