Does a regime change at Notre Dame effect our chances of landing certain prospects? Which prospects from ND would we be interested in? Are there any other probable firings or hiring?

I would think we would at least have some interest in the following ND prospects but I'm no expert:
Bernard at RB
Hendrix and Rees at QB
Martin at DE
Moore at LB even though I don't know that we've given him an offer?
Shembo at LB

Sorry if this has been posted before.

It'll have an effect, for sure. I'm not sure how many of these guys listed had us in their top schools, though.

Bernard I know we had a visit from but the others I have no idea about interest. If we can just get them on campus I feel confident we can land them.

Don't think Weiss gets fired. IF he does, and IF they somehow find enough money inside touchdown Jesus to convince CUM to go up there and take the job, the last month of recruiting could get very wacky.

No, but it may affect our chances.

I can't see how you don't fire Weis considering that Brian Kelly and/or Urban Meyer would run through a brick wall to take that job. Not to mention both of them could outcoach Weis any day of the week.

if we could cherry-pick their commits, we would find a place for Martin and Shembo.

there are rumors that Rees wants to visit this weekend.

Moore never received an offer, but was recruited to a certain extent. With the staff pursuing Christian Jones and Luc, (plus Taylor already aboard) I don't see Moore re-entering the picture.

Tennessee has told Martin they'd like to try him at linebacker.

The only shed of hope Weis has to be at ND next year is he has an enormous buyout. ND can come up with it ($18,000,000 LINK ) but do they want to bad enough?

It's funny how Meyer's buyout is 500K and a loser of a college coach is such a ridiculous amount. Poor judgment on ND's part.

Sab, where do you see the number? Ive looked around and seen a wide range. The link to the article claimed it was a question to the Notre Dame AD and he answered it.

You have to remember the following also could help:

-Georgia possibly with assistant coach shakeup
-South Carolina with possibly assistant coach shakeup

It was widely reported last year when discussion about his firing came up. There was speculation that it was very high, but discovered that the previous number was way higher than the actual amount. I'm sure you can google Charlie Weis buyout and find several articles.

FWIW this link is from today: SportingNewsCollegeFootball it talks about the Weis buyout briefly on the heels of losing to Pittsburgh.

Given the range of buyout numbers talked about and what Sab said ( which i did see from last year) i ask Matt Hayes who wrote this article and he says that THIS buyout IS total compensation x years left. That equals 18 million and he mentioned that comes from sources. So who knows.

Anyway, I think hes gone. Who would Tennessee be most interested in from there commitment list if any? Rees and Martin?? Someone else?? No one??
