and remember 08/01/2011 as the death blow to America.

Thank you GOP. Thank you Dems. Thank you to all who voted for a bill that weakens our defense, destroys the constitution by creating a Super Congress, and does nothing but add more debt to the country.

Well done all. You royally suck.

What's this about super congress?

That refers to the committee of twelve.

There will be twelve committee members.

Six will be congressmen, six will be senators.

Three congressmen will be demopubs.

Three congressmen will be republicrats.

Three senators will be demopubs.

Three senators will be republicrats.

Note carefully who those twelve men will be.

They deserve super scrutiny.

Their decisions will not be open for filibuster rules.

Their decisions will not be open for any amendments,
either in the house or in the senate.

Californians4Palin: Worth Repeating: Sarah Palin's Advice/Warning to GOP Freshmen

But the internal problem that he has is reinventing the wheel here in the 11th hour when we already had "cut, cap and balance" that passed the House.

And we don't need to retreat now and wave a white flag and say, oh, because the Senate is saying that they won't allow a vote on "cut, cap and balance," well, now we have to go out there and think up another plan. No, we didn't have to do that.
--------------------------------

Out here in proverbial politico flyover country, we little folk are watching the debt ceiling debate with great interest and concern. Today I re-read the open letter I wrote to Republican Freshman Members of Congress in November 2010, just days after they were ushered into office in an historic landslide victory due in large part to the activism of commonsense patriots who are considered part of the Tea Party movement.

I respectfully ask these GOP Freshman to re-read this letter and remember us “little people” who believed in them, donated to their campaigns, spent hours tirelessly volunteering for them, and trusted them with our votes. This new wave of public servants may recall that they were sent to D.C. for such a time as this.

The original letter is pasted below, with added emphasis to certain passages that I feel are especially relevant to the current discussion.
-----------------------------

Remember that some in the media will love you when you stray from the time-tested truths that built America into the most exceptional nation on earth. When the Left in the media pat you on the back, quickly reassess where you are and readjust, for the liberals’ praise is a warning bell you must heed. Trust me on that.

These are the men and women who sent you to Washington. May your work and leadership honor their faith in you.

My own congressman told me (after lying) to my face (and I caught him flat footed in his lie); "You can't tell the truth in Washington DC for fear of being crucified in the media."

I didn't tell him we wern't in Washington, he didn't have that excuse here, I just turned and walked away and left him standing boot deep in his own crap.

He is no longer my congressman, it remains to be seen what his replacement is, a liar and a coward or perhaps a statesman and patriot who is fearless in his stand to represent me fairly in Washington DC.

More like the day one group of politicians single handily steamrolled two different political parties; 2 different houses of government, and the president of the United States. The 2.5 trillion in spending cuts doesn't matter in the least when the bottom line is still 6-7 trillion.

how did the tea party do that? Last time I checked they weren't even a quarter of the total members in the House. Had Boehner wanted to, he could have completely worked around them and there wouldn't have been a damn thing they could have done to stop the legislation. I'm also not sure how you can blame this on the Tea Party when Nancy Pelosi is cackling to any member of the media who will listen that it was the democrats who saved the country.

you should stop listening to the idiots at MSNBC who have an almost Freudian fixation on the Tea Party.

I don't watch MSNBC.

Pelosi is an idiot with her own liberal agenda.

The tea party had control over many of the republicans under their control during this process.
