Don't really like the inuendo of the thread, however.... People make too much of this color of the candidate issue. I could care less what color a candidate I vote for is as long as he shares the same philisophical ideas that I do. Simply voting for a person based on what they look like is an epic failure and everyone should know this. What is a real chicken/egg problem for me is when a politician is elected is he beholden to his/her race? The sooner everyone moves away from this "what race/ethnicity are you" the better, IMO.

Who cares what color the guy's skin is? Ray Nagin was just a horrible politician through and through. The guy couldn't find his way out of a hallway with one door. His corruption and incompetence is what made him a failure not his skin color. Nancy Pelosi, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Mark Sanford, Sundquist, and Richard Nixon are all white and just as grossly incompetent. The tone this title has irritates me because people lump me in with that kind of thinking since I'm a racist conservative as well.

Does this mean Nagin will retract his 'chocolate city' statement and say it is more like say Rocky Road? A few fluffy white liberals? A few nuts? Anyone?

Oh he was definitely racist and used race as a weapon, and I won't argue that. I'm just tired of all the race baiting on both sides, and really wish that we start judging people by the content of their character as one very great and wise man once said at our Nation's capitol. (which Nagin did not have any of I may add)
