and then help you up and shake your hand like nothing happened!!:) (From the UF vs UK game)

Commentator said she was standing right there and that it appeared completely inadvertent.

As I understand it, the rule does not allow the refs to exercise any judgment in that case. They didn't really seem to want to throw him out, but I guess they had to.

Which suggests that the rules committee might need to give it some attention.

Two cases in the same year, I would tend to agree, it will be discussed in the offseason.

It was certainly inadvertent. When his foot touched down on the arm instead of the court, he immediately looked down and lifted up the foot before fully putting any weight down, and stepped over the arm. It wasn't liked he walked on it.

I'd love to be able to pretend that a Florida player was a classless jerk who deserved to be tossed. That just isn't the case, though.

I had a totally different take on it. It looked to me like he saw his arm and intentionally stepped on it. It was in the heat of battle and his emotions were high. After he stepped on him he didn't immediately go into "I'm sorry" mode. It was only after he realized that 20K people saw him step on another player that he came up apologetic.

Hodge may be a good kid, but that was an intentional action that was dealt with exactly as it should have been.
