Pretty sure I am listened to Holly calling the GA Texas Tech BB game. First I have heard of this career, am I just behind? Hope this phase of life goes well. I know it had to sting to not live up to Pat's dream for her, and she did not, but her Jersy is still up in the rafters and she did not fall below Pat's acceptable character level, so it is time to wish her well.

A little behind. She’s called a few games since she left coaching. She didn’t seem to be that into it though. I think it was a little too soon for her honestly. Should have taken some time off. I don’t recall her doing any last year. Possibly due to COVID as I think (could be wrong) she cares for her elderly mom.

Have heard through the grapevine she’d really like to get back into coaching.

I can’t imagine anything more than a mid major program being interested, and only that would be based on her recruiting. I’d be floored if she got interest from a Power 5 after getting fired from UT.

How different would South Carolina look now if she hadn’t gotten cold feet and backed out of the deal, and they missed out on Dawn as a result? They have to feel like Alabama football did when they ended up with Nick Saban after Rich Rodriguez bailed on them.

It was total rumor but that’s basically what I heard. That she would be interested if anything came open at one of the smaller schools in TN.

I thought it was Clemson that wanted her. Did SC want her, too?

Nothing but best wishes for Warlick if she decides to get back into basketball, either as a coach or as a personality. Lady Vol, All-American, helped Tennessee win 8 national titles, and won 72% of her games as Tennessee's head coach. We can hash out the gory details behind that 72% all day - and we all know there's a ton of things to hash out there - but she was and is a Lady Vol and a representative of the University of Tennessee. If she wants to get back into the sport, then by all means, go for it.

Really nice post. Holly ultimately was not successful as our coach but she was a class act and tried her best. She recruited amazing players, many of whom are our current stars still. Wish her nothing but the best!
