My impression on Holly is that she has grown. She finally realizes you can't let the game get away from you when the refs start changing the game! On the other side, she is showing that she is coaching and teaching by getting her players to play witlhin themselves and let the flow of the game dictate how to play. Like Graves. Gaves has had trouble finishing at the rim and she isn't trying to force her game now. She seems to have a good short perimeter game that will open up her inside game. Izzy is all world! Burdick is all around. She can rebound and hit the short jumper. When she is doing this it causes the inside defense to come to her which opens up the inside for Izzy. The most complete game for the Lady Vols with Holly as coach!

Good win for Holly and the LadyVols tonight! She had them ready and this was the best performance for the LadyVols since Pat retired for medical reasons.

Or the only people calling for her head were impatient people with not even so much as a smidgen of an idea about how coaching works. She didn't change coaching philosophy overnight.

God forbid you have a couple of bad games in this day and age. If Bill Belichick ever has a losing season there will probably be a stupid Patriots fan or two that will want him fired as well.

Holly was getting 4 years regardless of the final result as long as it was not disastrous. Seeing some growth in her and the team. She needs to continue to upgrade the roster to see just how far she can take them.

Holly says she has the best practice team in the nation. It will be nice when the roster can all play.

Or you don't know what you're talking about. Holly is now doing many of the things people were complaining that she wasn't doing. And, it is working. So, we must have known what we were talking about.

I doubt Holly spends time reading the drivel that's posted on VolNation.

Best game I've seen UT play for years. We actually looked like we had practiced an offensive play or two. I seriously think we would have beat any team in the country tonight. But don't start with that 'the people calling for Hollys head don't know anything about basketball crap'. I've seen some of the worst basketball I've ever seen by UT, coached by Holly. It does look like she has read some of this 'drivel' as you called it, and applied it to the game. We actually were hustling to make plays, actually were calling some plays at opportune times, and playing with toughness(sometimes I thought our girls were afraid to break a nail). That I can respect. Holly has climbed a notch or two in my eyes the last few weeks. Of course, an opinion is like a butt orifice, everyone has one.

This was a great game but let's keep some perspective. One game does not change that much.

A big difference between tonight and the Mizzou and Vandy outings is that this game was not a mug fest. Texas A&M came to play basketball rather than rugby.

That allowed the LVs to get a lot more flow in their offense and they were shooting lights out. But, past performances would suggest that 52% shooting is as much an aberration as their 17% in the first half against Rutgers.

But the constants are a very solid defensive performance, lots of hustle plays, and attacking the boards. And Izzy had her return to form game and we continue to see good consistent play from Burdick, Massengale, Graves, and Reynolds.

Shooting % will rise and fall but this team is laying the foundation to be very tough come tournament time.

I have never been a fan of Holly, nor , will I ever be. However, I will admit that she has made great strides in he ability to coach. Some day she may be pretty good. As long as she can recruit and have decent coaches around her she will be average to slightly above. Personally, in my opinion , forget a national championship. Until maybe Geno dies !!!l

Holly and the staff must have really done an awful lot of offensive coaching in the last couple of days. It's funny. The team plays bad and the staff is clueless according to many on here. They have a great game like last night and it's they sure did coach the team up last night. The question is, is it the staff or the players doing what they have been taught all along. I highly doubt the players learned the offense in two days. Could it be they just weren't doing what they were coached to do all along? We've seen this team do it before. They are pretty good when they want to be. I just wonder what pushed the button last night. Was it for Draya and her Nana? Was it from the embarrassment of the two previous games? I just hope they keep it up.

Blue font is for sarcasm in case you didn't know.
