I got this from another board, these were some suggestion Holtz and May had for Fulmer:

1) CPF needs to decide if he really wants to coach anymore
2) CPF need to evaluate his staff top to bottom - clean house if needed
3) Forget HS recruiting...need to recruit the players that are currently on campus.

Worst coaching job this season in D1, and in CPF's tenure.
UT biggest dissapointment of the year
The talent is in the house...start with a new OC

No problem with the OC. I have a solution. Dave Rader. Take him, please!

It took the genius of Mark May and Granny Clampett to figure that one out. :shakehead:

Today's Tennessean gave coaching an"F" on their report card for the Vandy game. Funny this is the same grade that they received for almost every game his season!! We've become the laughing stock of the nation!

No they didn't figure it out. They've just been reading the message boards and overhearing conversations. They're just regurgitating what they've already heard.

Isn't this like taking Financial advice from a bankrupt homeless CPA? :p

As a Crimson Tide fan, I just have to chime in on this one.
The saddest day in UT history will be the day that Phil Fulmer takes advice from Lou Holtz. :eek:k: :eek:k:

I highly doubt Holtz managed to put that all together in one ten minute segment, so I'm just going to assume May said it and Holtz said, "I agree."?

Actually, Holtz was the one who wouldn't really criticize CPF because he said he had been in the same position.

It's like a Navajo learning to speak English in Coach Holtz's classroom.

For starters - and this one is free - CPF needs to quit making friggin excuses an blaming everything and everyone but himself.

Sure, he says he is accountable. But his idea of taking responsibility is saying it stops with him but that it isn't his fault.

After the Vandy game he blamed injuries (for the 7 consecutive season), breaks, refs, players, and I'm guessing the deficit.

Holtz is a cheating, lying scumbag who, somehow, never landed at his perfect job as HC........at Alabama. :shades:

Phil Fulmer needs to take a hint from Charlie Weis. Now i don't think that Weis is the 2nd coming of God or anything but what he said after the USC game is a true testiment to good coaching. He said something along the lines of, "If you're waiting for me to say it was a good loss, you won't hear that here. Losing is losing, there are no moral victories. What I did tell them was not to hang their heads. That was a slugfest; a street fight. That was a good football game." Weis didn't play the blame game where he passes the blame for the loss around to the next guy like Fulmer does. TAKE SOME DAMN OWNERSHIP OF YOUR TEAM FULMER.

I certainly blame the refs. If you know the rules(which these guys obviously didn't) then you're /w me on this one.

definetly rwemyss, people can argue that you don't loose a game in the 4th quarter. But refs sure know how to make the wrong call at the worst time. it just ruins the rhythm and confidence of a team. that last "delay of game" penalty lost us the game.

I started with my normal, "I always think the refs are calling a bad game" to "were these guys paid off or what?"

The pass interference calls were questionable as well... one of them should have been offensive, and another offensive one should have been called on that "catch" that the kid made and then turned and ran it down to the 25.

Friday night I saw a technical called on Wingate for tossing the ball to the ref when he wasn't ready for the ball... I said that was the worst call I'd ever seen in my life... I went to the game Sat and that impossible delay of game penalty took over.

Don't forget Chris Brown getting shoved in the back before he could TRY to make a play on the ball in last few seconds of the game. They didn't call PI on that one because it probably wasn't catchable but called one on us when Vandy was driving the series before that.

I would normally say that we shouldn't have been in the position to come back against Vandy but this season is different. :ermm:
