Papi and Prince Fielder are captains this year for the derby. They get to pick their teams and any player can participate, they don't have to be an all-star.

Whatever team hits the most Is the winning team?

And there is still an individual winner? I don't know if I'm reading it wrong or not.

I dunno. But I still like the idea, regardless.

Fielder should take Stanton and J Ups. Then he may take Braun

I don't understand this at all, honestly.

I don't like that format of a team winning. It should be an individual event

That's why there's a link..unless you're talking about the home run derby itself.

I meant that I don't understand the change in the format of the Derby. How can there be team winners and an individual winner at the same time? It needs to be one or the other, in my opinion.

Yeah I agree..I'm completely confused.

I don't see how there can be a winning team and individual winner as well.

The guy with the most HR's on the winning team, or overall I guess. The derby has gotten stale, and thus new format atleast has me interested.

Always been stale to me. I can take about 15 seconds of it.

Just like collegiate or HS golf. Overall winner still wins, but then there's also a contest for "teams". It's not that complicated of an idea.
