I’ll most likely be making another post as the game nears, but I’ll be driving down from Boston November first for homecoming weekend. Drove down for the Florida game last year, and just the sight of a packed Neyland brought tears to my eyes.

This time will be a little different as my little brother will be coming with me! His enlistment ends and he’ll be back from serving overseas in the Marines in October. Would love for us both to see what the tailgating experience is all about. Couldn’t really find exactly where to go last year. Does anyone have any tailgating spots we could come on by?

Can’t wait to see Neyland again, and spend a long weekend in Knoxville. I’m moving from Boston to Knoxville July first of next year, and I’m trying to seal the deal to have my brother move down with me. No connection to Knox or Tennessee besides my love for the Vols!! GBO 🍊🍊

Unfortunately not, although Tobias left me 2nd row tickets at will call right on the away team tunnel his rookie year. Couldn’t disappoint so I was head to toe in Tennessee gear down to the official team basketball shoes at the TD Garden 😂🍊

Had the entire Milwaukee bucks team laughing during their warmups. Tobias came and talked to me after the game and gave me his shooting sleeve.

"the sight of a packed Neyland brought tears to my eyes". Wow. Now THAT is what being a True Tennessee Fan is all about.

Very cool. I'm always open to anyone here coming by as well. VolNation is fantastic.

I've tried to make it up to see you guys ,but we always wait until the last minute to go to the game. Will definitely make a trip to see you guys this year.
Yes come by. We have a system. Example... Game at 7... We start early, usually food around 430 til 530. Then party until 615. At that point I'll ask everyone to take 3 mins to help clean up and put things in my vehicle. At 620-625 we all walk in. Gotta be there somewhat early.

Ps we party all day. Those times are the times we eat and clean. The party don't stop.

Absolutely will be coming by! Appreciate that more than you know, can’t show up empty handed though. What’s your drink?!

UT Dutchman - I got a spot at the methodist church for this season as well and i'm curious if you have any insight about the tailgating atmosphere/rules, etc... I emailed them asking if they had any specific rules for tailgating and told them what all i plan to bring - just didn't want any surprises on game day, more or less asked if a generator and propane grill was okay and about the footprint of my canopy... I specifically purchased an end spot so there would be no one parked to the left of me and my 10x10 canopy could be offset a little and not infringe on the space of those parked to my right... They told me that even though there was no official parking spot to my right, they might oversell on gameday and choose to let someone park there (that's frustrating to hear, but whatever), and that my canopy and all my tailgating "stuff" had to fit within the measurements of a parking space - 18' x 9' - which would give you only about 2' directly behind the rear of the car and that's it... surely they won't really enforce that?? I've got a hitch carrier that turns into a table - with that hitch carrier attached to the truck we'll probably fill up that entire parking spot. By the time I turn that into a table and set up the blackstone and add some chairs, a canopy, etc., I feel like we're definitely going to go WAY past that 18' max length (even if I get the smaller canopy and we fit into the 9' width).

I do plan on getting an 8x8 canopy just to make sure they don't give us a hard time about that... but hopefully they don't oversell and we can use the 10x10...

But I guess my concern now is about how far we're going to be extending length-wise past the end of the parking space - do you think i have anything to worry about or do most people spread out and take up more room than that? I'm hoping once most of the people are parked and there's not much traffic coming through it won't be an issue....

Thats the key, once everyone is parked around your spot, everyone moves out into the aisle. We use a couple grills gas and charcoal as well as a couple generators. Also the 10 x10 will be fine. Some move out in the aisle early and as long as you can move your stuff for a vehicle to get by I've never seen a problem. Looks like we are going to have a band for a few games be sure to come on down.

Thanks for all the information!! You've eased my mind about several things. I'll definitely come find you and say hello! I'll be in spot #56 every home game
