You could tell that much of the offense was going through him early. His struggles continue inside his head. He plays against himself. When he quits thinking, he gets to the basket at will. It sucks the best offensive weapon on our team cannot forget the last play. If Scotty does his thing we win by 10+ easy.

I'm telling you, Scotty is a good player. But people think he's the next big thing and I have no clue why.

I think he's not very tough, and kinda still like a little kid........he's got to get tougher, and use his body and skills to get to the rack.......

I think this is a reasonable presumption.

I agree 100% if he would just play his game, he is ridiculously athletic, yet he keeps making so many mistakes. We def. shot ourselves in the foot tonight, once again.

Hopson disappears against tougher competition. As good as he looks at times, he is not anywhere close to being NBA ready. He might be there by his Senior year.

Wow wow wow! I was so impressed with how Scotty was going to the rim and I didn't see that the last two games. He's such a force when he drives. Seems like when his 3 game is off, he loses confidence in his self or something.

I haven't seen this brought up anywhere else. This is pure speculation, but did anyone see the huge bags under Scotty's eyes? That would usually mean little to no sleep...

Vincent Yarbrough was a McDonald's All-American who came to UT in the late '90s and turned out to be an epic bust. Now you see where I'm going with this?
Scotty's personality is not that of a mentally tough player that can play through bad stretches. He also is not a shooter like Hummel, who was cold as ice to start the game but kept shooting until he started hitting. If Scotty is on and his confidence is high we are unstoppable.

Exactly.

GREAT Comparison on the Vincent Yarbrough, we just got to keep getting better and fix all those stupid mistakes. I'm glad to play a good team early on though.

Hopson cant believe it when he scores and cant believe when he misses!!!

Tatum took arguably the dumbest shot........we're down by 2, Chism blocks a shot, and Cam. jacks up a 30 foot three pointer........there was no need for that, just get a 2, and tie the game.......

Hopson WILL have to get tougher--for sure. Tough guys don't rely on the three, and when the outside jumper isn't falling they know to take the rock to the hole and make contributions in other ways. I don't know how many treys the Vols took tonight--but teams that take a lot of treys tend to be soft. Taking a three when you need only two to one--another example of being soft--especially when it's your big man. Soft basketball.

Just a bunch of mental mistakes, stupid shots at the end, just not much bball intelligence.

He wasn't an "epic" bust. Somewhat soft and underachieving, but he was a solid contributer.
