A male suspect has taken hostages at the Discovery Channel Building in Silver Springs, MD.

Reports say shots have been fired and the suspect has 4 to 12 hostages. He's also wearing some type of vest with a bomb.

It's on all the cable news channels.

it's being reported that the Asian male suspect has demanded a stop to the birthing of "parasitic human infants"

I'll go out on a limb and bet that MSNBC tries to portray this guy as some kind of right-wing, tea party racist, gun nut.

Update......... The suspect is an Asian male who led a protest against the Discovery Channel. He demanded that they air shows that teach how to live without having more children. Apparently, he's a population control freak.

Suspect is rumored to be a current or former employee.

He's reported to have been seen with a pistol, pipe bombs, canisters, and some type of device resembling a stapler with a blinking red light.

For a minute I was thinking it could be that guy from Mythbusters.

In all seriousness, hopefully they talk (whoever it may be) away from doing anything stupid.

Witness says two shots were fired. Four stretchers have been taken into the building and police are in contact with the suspect.

Suspect now might not be a current or former employee.

I'm outta here, I've got to pick my son up from school.

I hope this ends peacefully.

Apparently they're saying he's threatening with a "dead man's switch". They're explaining he's holding the switch to set off the bomb with his finger. If he is shot - the bomb will explode. I'm starting to wonder if this is a bomb, or if it is a set of road flares strapped to his chest like in the movie Tommy Boy.

Looks like TLC has a hit show on their hands for the new fall season. Scratch that, he's not a midget.

per CNN - they in fact did this. They're saying he is now dead.


edit: evidently CNN backed off the claim. I'm still looking for another source.

Enviro terrorist. CNN was probably expecting him to be a conservative "nut" like LG tells us are such a problem due to Beck.
