Nothing but posturing. Of course if this surge fails, there will be quite a few names tied to this since it is after the 2006 elections.

This just might confuse the insurgents and their supporters enough for the surge to work. I'm sure they are scratching their beards thinking, this must be a trick. It's got to be a fake withdrawal, a trap. Surely no country would really put Pelosi in charge of their war strategy??? Never trust those crafty Americans.

You know its funny that the whole election ploy by the Democrats was an immediate pullout. Now its by September of 2008. More than likely if all goes well with the surge the troops will be home sooner. This may or may not happen, but you can bet your bottom dollar that if the President gets the troops home earlier and we "win" in Iraq that the Democrats will take FULL credit for it and say that they forced the President to do what they wanted.

Surely everyone knows that the Republicans realize that no Republican has a chance if the troops are still in country on election day. It'll be worked out, as to who gets the credit, well thats politics.
