I put this in another thread but it's got me so angry I had to start a thread.

If this is an emergency, treat it like one. Forget the religious holiday and do your damn job.

History will not be kind to Nancy Pelosi and she will deserve every bit of criticism that comes her way.

That's the nicest thing I can think of to say about her.

she's going down as the worst house speaker in history, warranted or not.

She has set women back 25 years, which is very ironic.

Finally saw her comments.

She is truly a disgusting person. This is serious stuff yet she has no problem politicizing this event.

Personally I don't for a second believe that her comments alone caused the bill to fail, but you have to wonder what she was thinking. The speech was something you'd expect from an insignificant member trying to make a name for themselves.

maybe she knew it would fail and wanted to make the Repubs out to be the bad guys? She knew they would get upset and take it to the media.

Either that or my tinfoil hat is a bit tight

She was thinking politics. She was not thinking about what needed to be done and fulfilling her role as a leader.

I am a pretty laid back guy that takes most things in life with a humorous attitude, but these people are cause for concern. I don't believe that most of these people are very bright. That makes for some frightening scenarios.

She showed no leadership here period.

Oh well, really no need for her to show leadership.

The mass media will continue their piss poor reporting on this crisis and all the "average LGs" and "LG sixpacks" will continue walking around happy about how we're sticking it to Wall Street man! Yea, dude, stick it to those richie richers!

By not passing the bill now, the markets will crash for several days, public sentiment against the bailout will begin to weaken, and congress will meet and pass a bill without it hurting them as much politically.

I would bet if you would look at who voted no for the bill, most of them were up for re-election this year. To me this is political maneuvering and incumbents trying to save face in their elections this year. They know they have to pass a bill, they just want to let public sentiment against it wane some.

it's an election year, every one of them are up for re-election. It's the ones who's positions aren't safe that voted no.
