The State Department last night said one of the persons responsible for the inappropriate behavior was employed by an information technology firm headed by one of Mr. Obamas foreign intelligence advisors. The State Department this evening had not yet released the names of the persons responsible for the unauthorized searches but said two were employed by Stanley Inc. and the third was an employee of The Analysis Corp. (TAC). Stanley Inc., a 3,500-person firm, is an Arlington-based information technology firm that this week won a $570 million contract to continue providing passport services to the State Department, which the company has done since 1992, according to Stanley Inc.s Web site. .......TACs Chief Executive Officer John O. Brennan is a former CIA agent who is an adviser to Mr. Obamas presidential campaign.

Sources who tracked the investigation (are saying) that the main target of the breach was the Obama passport file, and that the contractor accessed the file in order to “cauterize” the records of potentially embarrassing information.

The files may contain additional information including “original copies of the associated documents,” the report added. Such documents include birth certificates, naturalization certificates, or oaths of allegiance for U.S.-born persons who adopted the citizenship of a foreign country as minors.

The Obama campaign acknowledged at its “Fight the Smears” Web site that Obama was a foreign national until the age of 18, by virtue of his father’s British then Kenyan citizenship.

“Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982,” the Web site stated.

“Fight the Smears” attempted to debunk rumors that Obama was not a U.S. citizen by producing a 2007 computer-generated copy of his certification of live birth.

“The truth is, Barack Obama was born in the state of Hawaii in 1961, a native citizen of the United States of America,” the Web site states.

However, “native citizen” is a colloquialism, not a legal term. It is not the same as “natural-born citizen,” the requirement to be president set out in Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution.

Actually I think the passport cleansing may have involved a clandestine trip to Pakistan (and perhaps elsewhere) in conjunction with the 2006 Kenya trip, but that is only a rumor.

President Obama found time to give his first official television interview as president not to the American people, but to Al Arabiya television.

His goal, ostensibly, was to communicate the following to the Muslim world: "America is not your enemy." Obama noted his own upbringing in Indonesia and the fact that he has Muslim relatives. He claimed that the U.S. made mistakes in the past, but "that the same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago, there's no reason why we can't restore that."

Remember America's relations with the Muslim world 20 or 30 years ago? The late 1970s and early 1980s was the time of a series of plane hijackings, taking American diplomats hostage in Iran, suicide attacks on Americans in European discos, and the killing of 241 sleeping Marines in their barracks in Beirut, Lebanon.

That's what Obama wants to restore?
