Haven't seen much about last year's freshman OL, other than Nichols. I know Brian Grant is a project who may take a couple of years to develop. But I'm wondering if Masai Ressick and Mo Clipper are coming along. Spraggins is gone next year and we'll need someone to step up at RG.

Hoping they get more and more of the snaps that Ollie Lane and Lampley currently receive…at least by the end of the season. Either Nichols or Lang will apply also when not serving as depth for Cooper Mays.

Agree. I think they see Nichols as the Center of the future and Lang as a Guard/Center hybrid, just based on my reading of the situation so far. Although I think it was Kerbyson (maybe Kendrick?) who said Nichols’ has higher upside at Guard.

But yeah, those 4 appear to be the future of the interior offensive line…along with Karic, who I believe has 3 years of eligibility left.

Correct me if I’m wrong: isn’t Nichols a bit taller than the prototypical center?

Is Brian Grant the guy whose recruiting photo was him in a basketball jersey? That definitely usually screams project.

Not sure, but Mo Clipper and Masai Reddick are definitely football names. . . Reddick could easily be a boxer as well.

That was my thought too. He was a tackle in HS and seems to have the body type to play on the outside. I thought they worked him at center last year just for development but that he would eventually move to tackle. However, he seems to be working at center again this spring.

Wild Idea: Have OL and DL enroll in Tae Kwon Do classes twice a week along with their spring and/or summer classes. Helps balance, improves leveraging skill, sharpens reflexes, and hand placement.

Right, our players should stay away from this guy. However, Seagal doesn't practice Tae Kwon Do, he's an Aikido artist, which though a mixture of various styles, doesn't include Tae Kwon do. So my suggestion would automatically excludes him as a trainer. Thus, twice the reason to steer clear of him.

I'm hoping they are at a point where they can play well in the non-confrence g5 games this year. Get them some quality game experience and then they will be ready to go next 2024.

Nichols appears to be a real "hit," and will likely be in the rotation at LG while serving as first backup at OC this season. Next season he'll be in line to be a starter at either.

Grant, Reddick and Clipper have more to prove in order to be considered anything other than "misses." Grant was the one with the longest runway of development given his size and relative lack of experience, but the staff love(d) his athleticism at his height so there's hope there. Reddick was a mauler who I still have high hopes for in the future, while Clipper is someone you just don't hear much about. I'm hopeful all 3 make progress this offseason and are willing to stick it out here while developing instead of jumping ship since they aren't playing early in their respective careers.

I think he’s more of a Guard/Right Tackle, but not Left Tackle.
