Lotsa blame and angst after today's mediocre signing day. I wonder how much our QB situation plays a role in players deciding to go elsewhere. Maybe it's to simplistic of a view, but we lack that team leader under center who players could rally behind. Right now signing with Tennessee is signing with a team that has no identity. Even the QB we signed is an unknown. There isn't a symbol of hope for recruits to look to. Sure, we have some ballers...and we signed some more...but the top level guys stayed away this class.

My gut says that if we get the right QB next class, the rest of the players will follow.

Very little to none. If that was the case, every year a team breaks in an inexperienced new QB their recruiting would suffer.

Hard to define an offensive identity when no one has seen it from THIS staff. So I don't know how much if a role it played/plays... but I would imagine it is something that our competitors would surely point out on the trail.

Unfortunately because of last years goose egg in the SEC it's very easy to recruit against TN right now. Add into that a brand new coaching staff and having not 1 but both teams from the nat'l championship game in our conference makes it even tougher.

New coach, no SEC wins, coaching search circus, no proven QB, awful offensive line compared to competition. We are rebuilding quite a bit, so harder to get the top players wanting to win now.

Jones had Dobbs. We need JG, Shrout, Grad transfer to step up, be the rising tide to lift up the rest of the team...we don't have the patience to build around a mediocre QB.

Worked for Phil when he signed Peyton. I believe that signing a 5 star QB would have a significant effect on pulling in offensive skill players.
