How big of a role does a QB commitment play?

I think it plays a huge role. In my opinion, until we land a QB commitment we will not see any top-tier OL commit. Same goes with WR's.

Both of these positions are of need for us and we need a QB to get the ball rolling.

I think it plays more of a role with WRs than anything. We can use Bryce Brown as a tool for the OL. But receivers need to know that we will have someone that'll deliver the ball to them on time and accurately.

I think a big name QB will attract other big time players regardless of position. The QB is usually the face and leader of a team, so the better he is the more "better" other players will want to come join in on whats going on in K-Town

It comes down to the relationship of the recruit and the staff. Kids want to WIN and also be taught by the best inorder to make it to the next level. Remember, most recruits have been recruited for 2 years by most schools, so they have a head start on building that trust. Our classes will come in 2011, but more definitely 2012.

Well I just think with this current TN team...our QB position is holding us back. We have 2 scholarship QB's...One is a Sr....neither are great and kids (Wr's & OL) want to see who we bring in before they jump aboard.

Hendrix would be a good first step.

Your right, recruits are interested. but the names and visits will come as we begin to WIN. If we can win the first 2 games and either win or play UF close, then recruits will start to believe. If we start 3-1 instead of 1-3 or 2-2, we'll be fine as far as getting recruits here for official visits.

i think it plays a monumental role. None wants ot come to tennessee and work hard if the ball is going to be intercepted each time. I love the hype that heaps comes with. would be bigger to the fanbase than the bryce brown commit. But as much as i like him, ive grown to think that scroggins might actually be better. either one of those and hendrix would be a success. we will get hendrix. its just a matter of which of the two big names are we going to get.
