Lets think about it.

2003 10-3
2004 10-3
2005 I forgot
2006 Possibly 10-3

Thats would mean we will have had 10 wins 3 out of the last 4 years. How many coaches get fired for that?

I see this is your first post. Is the university dispatching pro-Fulmer operatives to calm the masses after last night's thrashing?

Those 10 win seasons have netted us exactly what? Oh, that's right. 3 mediocre bowl bids. We should all rejoice.

2004 was actually a 9-win season. The 10th win came in the bowl game. Kind of like it would have to be this year despite getting to add 12th regular season game to the schedule.

2003's 10 win season culminated in an embarrassing loss to Maryland in the Peach Bowl. 02's 10 win season ended with a loss to Clemson in the Peach Bowl.

Bowden outcoached Fulmer and Co. so bad in that game it was embarrassing.

Actually its not my first post. I just changed my handle name. He set the bar and he set it high. Now we expect it every year. Your are not perfect and either is he.

The bar is no longer set high, apparently. One of the most common posts I have seen on the board lately, paraphrased: At least we are going to a bowl this year! Can't you be happy with that?!

I am happy with a bowl game this season but I am not satisfied until we start competing for SECC and NC again. He has 2 seasons to turn it around and start winning again or he is gone.

When you hit rock bottom, you can only go up. You have to start somewhere. After going 5-6, we all cant expect a conference championship the next season. We have made strides from last season, huge strides. We return a nucleus of our attack next season.

Who was the coach when we went 5-6 last season?

Where did I say I was perfect? And what would that silly statement have to do with anything?

We've morphed into a Clemson, Virginia, or a Texas A&M........occasionally win a big game and get the fan base excited but at year's end hoping for a minor bowl. No longer a contender!

True.......and it's so sad. But lets all repeat the rationalizing vols fans mantra to make ourselves feel better:

"Look at what we did last year ya'lllll"

1989: 11-1 SEC CHAMPS
1990: 9-2-2 SEC CHAMPS
1991: 9-3
1992: 5-3 (didn't finish the season)

Look familiar? It looks pretty similar to Fulmer's the last few years. Those records were Johnny Majors his last four years. Not trying to start an argument, I just like to point those out to those that are protectors of Fulmer.

Fulmer has done well at Tennessee overall even though I don't personally care for him that much.

Now, here is my question - What has Fulmer done this year that is so amazing?

Wins: Cal, Air Force, Marshall, Memphis, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina

Losses: Florida, LSU, Arkansas

Is there anything that impressive about the teams that we beat? Some aren't too bad, but Cal was overrated and so was Georgia, those being the two quality wins. Add to that almost losing to dang Air Force, Alabama, and South Carolina! Add those three losses in and man .... I am not ready to say "Fire Fulmer" yet, but I don't think we have done anything amazing with this football team.

Our last SEC title was EIGHT YEARS AGO. To me, that says it all.
