Anyone notice that Driskel, Burton and Gillislee weren't running down the sidelines all night vs. the Cards?

Florida tried only 2 end arounds and bootlegs and got crunched but good.

After a few tries early, Pease realized UL had real closing speed, and UF was left with playing it straight, at which they're not very good.

Speed has no slump, and we ain't got much (do we?) on D.

They wanted it more and/or Strong isn't afraid to travel to Memphis.

It's not as much about talent as it is about sunseri being the worst d coordinator in the history if football.. How else would we get that much worse in a year with the same players, plus a lot more depth?

This. And also this. Maybe even more this. This year we had the same or better personnel and better depth almost across the board, compared to our top 20 defense the year before. The coaching and scheme are what changed changed.

Coaching and scheme had more to do with it than talent.. UT could use some speed yes, they took bad angles, ran themselves out of plays being over aggressive.. Not to mention they couldn't get lined up half the time.. Almost makes you wonder if Dooley wanted to get fired.. That was a pitiful hire..

Bama fans make excuses for him all of the time. "He needs great linebackers, lock down corners, and a good pass rush to run his system" was their mantra. I could coach a great defense with those kind of players. He was a total failure.

THe stat they showed of Louisville recruiting in florida was unreal

34 players from Florida. Excellent team speed on defense.

Charlie knows what he's doing.

But that player lawsuit is still hanging over him like a dark cloud.

I am happy with butch

One of the first things Butch Jones and his coaches noticed when they looked at Tennessee team this year was how slow we were on both sides of the ball.

Well apparently all Wilcox needs is warm bodies, because he made his defense perform at UT.

I truly feel that we have more talent on both sides of the ball than Louisville. We just didn't have the coaching.

If we had any dc besides sunseri we win 9 games. I truly believe that. Any 8th grade coach that ran a 4-3 scheme could have done better than what we had. If we only hold yeams to 21 points we win most of those games! Yes we are far more talented than u of l. Coaching is everything.

Yeah, but to get the kids to go to Louisville, KY! That's saying something.

Not to belittle you but Louisville has over 1.3 million residents and is a much more happening town than Knoxville. Like comparing Nashville to Knoxville. U of L is not a dump like the UK people would like for you to believe, however, they should never eclipse to orange in football, ever.

I'm not knocking Louisville as a city, but it is hard to get kids from FL to go that far north. Keep in mind, it's not just UF, FSU, and UM any more. You have USF, UCF, FAU, & FIU grabbing players as well.

I applaud Strong for the job he's doing. He's not only getting players from FL but keeping them in school. Go back to Nu'keese Richardson (sp?). You take a kid from Pahokee and put him in Knoxville. Not a fit.

Not to belittle YOU, but a large population is hardly an indicator of a desirable locale (many, many million plus cities are ****eholes).

Better to compare football tradition, facilities, following etc.

It's 50 percent player skill 50 percent coaching. Boise State Oklahoma state Kansas State Vanderbilt are all just examples. Bottom shelf football Talent with top shelf coaching Talent can lead to amazing things. Take top shelf football Talent with the top shelf coaching you got national championship contender material.
