Honestly surprised this is the first time it's happened since '86-'87, especially with the recent rash of Derrick Roses, Kevin Durants, Greg Odens, and so on.

This is really the reason it surprises me. There have been plenty of surefire lottery picks straight out of HS that came to college and haven't been Pre-season All American. I guess you have to start the revolution somewhere though.

By the end of this season, you will have 4 or 5 players in this class that outplay and set themselves above Barnes. Perhaps 2 of them are in this conference. Are any of them worthy of 1st team All American honors? Probably not, but I think it will be a different picture come Feb.

They play different positions.

They are both forwards. Barnes and Singler both made the list and they essentially play the same position. Listed as a power forward but play a hybrid of the 3/4. Sullinger is just a true 4
