How does Ferguson's injury stay quiet?

Apparently Ferguson was wearing a boot most of this past week.

I find it hard to believe, in this day of social media and instant information, that no media covering the Vols or student at UT didn't see him and comment on some level of social media that he was wearing a boot.

Perhaps I missed it, but then again I don't Twitter or Facebook.

Have to agree on this. If your backup is hurt it must be up to the media to know this. However in CBJ defense, Worley's thumb injury played a role in this secret count on it.

Worley's thumb was broken in the sc game but not that bad. Thought he could go. Broken worse in Bama game. Look for Nate to be back soon maybe next week

CBJ said Nate probably wouldn't be back until the last 2 games of the season and all I ever heard or saw last week regarding Riley was that he had a wrap on his lower leg not that he was wearing a boot. He was still doing drills. You can see it at the 2:45 mark in this video.

Also meant to say Nate will be available next week as back up. No need to burn ferguson redshirt. My opinion burn

GOD bless the kid but I'm not looking for Nate to do anything other than hold a clipboard. Dobbs should be our QB going forward IMO.

I read somewhere that RF was gimping around on a leg tweak earlier this week, which was no surprise to see Dobbs come in. So, it wasn't that big of a secret.

I think gimping around is a mischaracterization. You see what REALLY happened is there has been some criticism of Riley not being the speediest of our QBs so he went out and had Orange flames tattooed on his lower leg. The wrap seen in the video was there just to keep the tattoos from getting dirty. jmo. tifwiw. :)

Thanks for sharing the video. It's dated last Tuesday which means Ferguson's injury occurred the week of USCe prep or Sunday, the day after the USCe game since they were off Monday.

What's interesting is that sometime after this Tuesday practice video, the injury got worse and he had to wear a boot.

Horrible timing for Ferguson since most everyone had tabbed him as the number 2 behind Worley.

At any rate, I liked what I saw in Dobbs. Very poised and seemed to look comfortable in running the offense. This will be a huge week for Dobbs if Worley can't go. He needs tons of reps with the ones to get things as cohesive as possible.

Little bit premature judgement on Nate. Yes he sucked it up as bad as I've seen for a half of football but I'm not declaring him a permanent clipboard holder yet.

Here's a question, Worley can't go, Dobbs gets dinged up at MO and can't continue, does Butch burn Ferguson's redshirt? Or, does he go with a wild pig or something?

RF could have have played and would have but he is third string . Butch Jones said so himself. The only place that says he had a boot on is Volnation once it became apparent he is begin Dobbs. Is there some links or reports I missed. If any one is injured there is a news paper article or at least a thread on here. Why did all of these insiders who know more than media covering us not report it until Dobbs was coming in?

I'm not sure why the controversy. Dobbs was always considered an elite QB and a fantastic pickup for UT. My only question was when do they make him the starter.
Butch can see that it's time to get his future started now.
