why is it when the UT basketball team plays someone good like duke,kansas,memphis and teams like that we play em close or beat them but when we play these teams like oakland and charlette we lose?

Your mid majors are just as good. Look at Butler, VCU, Gonzaga, Xavier. These teams have talent and good coaching.

Seriously. Oakland is a good team. They'll make some heads roll this year.

Alabama is top 20 and playing at home. Arkansas is a good team and was at home. Tennessee is unproven and playing away. Oakland is incredibly good at home.

The Oakland-UT game went about as well as I expected and could have gone either way. What was the Vegas line?

Good grief.
This team has been playing together for 6 games. 8 including exhibition.
If you're trying to compare them to last year's team, most of those guys had played together for 3 years with a 1 and done.
It could be mid season before these guys even start to play consistently.
They could beat Pitt by 20 or and lose to COC by 30.
Wait til mid season at least, before you start making judgments.

oakland is 40-2 in their past 42 games at their home arena, a lot of schools are afraid to play oakland in rochester, like msu and mich, so the schedule to play them at the palace. No way they were winning that game at TBA w/o keith benson

According to which Vegas site you went to Tennessee was anywhere from a 1.5 to 3.5 favorite. We lost by 8.
