:D They are goog enough that they will maybe upset a couple of good teams. They might win enough games to make the NIT.

Intentionally trying to tick off LIO isn't a good idea. Even if you're into sado-masochism. Imagine the Wife of Bath amped up to the point where you actually wished she'd just hit you.

I was actually hoping this was going to draw a little fuller answer- I was about to post the same topic-question myself when I saw this thread.

We're unbeaten so far, but against some weak teams, and some of them gave us trouble.... Plus, I noticed that unbeaten or not, we're not even among the 15 teams or so included in the "also recieving votes" section of either of the polls.

Do any of you hoop heads know where we actually stand compared to the other teams in the SEC? I'd really hate for our men's squads to score back-to-back losses to Vandy..........

We have beaten some weak opponets, but i think three of them went to the ncaa tournament last year? I know that one of them gave kentucky there moneys worth in the first round last year. that being said this team comes out and plays a full 40 minutes, something we havent seen in tennessee in a long time. We got a great class coming in next year and that will only help but as for this year, I think a Ncaa tournament bid is not out of the question. if we can beat all the teams we are suppose to beat in the sec, maybe get a surprise win aginst kentucky and florida, get oklahoma state, and play texas tough, and i say we are in.

There probably be but 5 teams from the SEC get an invitation:

1 kentucky
2 florida
3 lsu
4 miss. state
5.alabama

UT will have to have a better record then one of these teams or a better record against ranked competition. Tough job.

I will be stunned if Mississippi State makes the tournament. I think Arkansas, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina will be bubble teams. All three of those teams have some non-conference games coming up that give them a chance to rack up wins that will impress the committee when March rolls around.

Not even our only hope. The baseVols will be strong again and I predict another trip to Omaha. The Lady Vols are looking good in VB and of course Pat's girls could make it to or past the final 4.

Bruce is getting the most out of his team right now and doing a great job. We also have a top ten class coming in next year. We have beaten 4 teams that all have multiple NCAA tourney appearances in the last 4 years.

right, but the fifth team will be either vandy, sc, ark, or miss state, very hard to get that fifth spot.

It's still too early to really tell, but going off those two games alone.....I would have to say no.
