The thing that gets me is that his effing dad is a basketball coach, how do ya let that jump shot form go?....I mean that is something you correct when he is like 13.
I agree with you on JP that his dad should have caught that and fixed it but I have known of many players that have been overcoached when they are a little unorthodox and have been ruined for it. Like what the titans are doing with vince young, he is not an x's and o's type guy like they want him to be. Vince is simply a playmaker the coaches have to put faith in him and let him do his thing instead of criticizing his every move. Same thing with devin hester. Did you notice how his special teams coach ruined arguably the best returner in history by making him slow down and allow his blocks to set. I know I got off topic it just kills how coaches get big heads sometimes instead of looking at their star player and telling him to just go do what he does.

ok, i can't believe i'm going to do this but i'm defending JP. i don't knw if he could shoot in high school or not. as far as my experience is concerned this is what happened to me. i could stroke it seriously, but the form was terrible. When I went to college there was an assistant coach who was suppose to be this "shooting coach" guru. he taught me perfect form but it completely F'd up my shot. didn't feel right and for 2 years my shot was jacked from outside the post. now maybe when JP went to Arizona they adjusted his shot and now its all jacked. the "shooting guru" left after my soph yr and i went back to my old shot. felt much more comf. with it

Tayshaun did not have the prettiest jump shot in college, but he worked on it and now it is one of his many attributes. The bottom line on JP is until he learns to play hard every game, every possession, and in practice when the camera is not rolling we are going to continue to get what we have gotten for the last two years - and inconsistent highlight seeking selfish player that makes you want to put your head through a concrete wall. Off the top of my head I can not think of any basketball player at UT who has done so little with so much.

couldn't have said it better myself....wouldn't change a word of it.....probably the most frustrating player to watch on the team...just wish someone would knock the dog sh*t out of him the next time he salutes after a dunk....
