Ohio wore new black jerseys for the Marshall game last Saturday. Here is their reaction:

Great to see them have fun and enjoy the change, since we've never done anything like this before. This has got some natioal attention on ESPN on the SVP show and I think LeBatard talked it too. Pretty cool.

Oh yea, we won 44-7 too.

If they like it, that's fine. I just think it's extremely uncreative to go with a black jersey since seemingly everybody has one now, or has tried it.

The reaction was priceless. That's what the younger generation likes, that's why I wouldn't mind seeing it done here.

I like the idea of black. But, the old and ignorant folks who are in power probably will not allow this.

The recruits/players love new uniforms period. You could color them pink and they would like it.

I hate the idea of black. But the young and ignorant punks who have accomplished nothing, don't care about tradition

The recruits/players love new uniforms, period. You could color them pink like fairies and they would like it because they care more about looking pretty than winning.

First of all... I thought this was suppose to be a mans game. Second of all, how many of these teams sporting new jerseys have won championships? It seems to me that Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State etc. don't have a problem. You don't see them s***ing all over tradition

Speaking as a twenty one year old male who played sports his whole life... New jerseys were like the Holy Grail.

We begged our coaches to get us some black unis for a halloween game (didn't hurt that both teams were 9-0 and the winner won the division, and that the game was on halloween night) but, they wouldn't do it. They said we hadn't earned them.

We won anyway, but damn did it piss us off for them to say we hadn't earned a little uni change.

All of those teams in bold have worn at least one Nike Pro Combat uniform.

I wouldn't mind seeing tn do something ala michigan our even the black on special games. A rival throw back game like the next we play auburn our the next time wr play on halloween. seeing it done every year or multiple time takes away from it imo.

I like the idea of modern throwback rather than "Hey let's get a black jersey to show how cool we are!" Although if you could combine it into a modern throwback of the old original black jerseys, you may be onto something. That would be a compromise; it's black and it's traditional.

They were not wearing them the years they won the championship. And they're not adding new colors. Everyone here seems to want Tennessee to wear black when talking about new jerseys.

You also said they weren't s******g all over tradition with the alternate uniform fad like all of those schools are holier than thou institutions based on what they wear, when in fact those schools are college powerhouses with great tradition who realize one alternate uniform isn't tossing that tradition out the window.

UT tradition is more about winning, we're S******G all over that right now, and oh yea, back in the day, TENNESSEE wore black jerseys, sorry to break your clueless bubble.

Strange uniforms are great way for the less talented teams like Maryland to get noticed, but the SEC don't need them. The elite players in this conference get noticed on talent alone.

I think they are moreso getting noticed for getting destroyed at home by Temple.
