How long before the government enforces a law that states we have to turn off all the lights in our homes at 8 o'clock at night under the guise of conservation?

:eek:k:

I am willing to say in my son's lifetime. He is currently 15 months old.

It's all about the size of your carbon ass-print (stolen from Ann Coulter lampooning the ever-lampoonable Al Gore).

All kidding aside, I have no doubt it will get to that point.

This countries people will be working for the advancement of government.

There is no way that we will have a national lights out policy. Ain't happening - ever.

It will happen.............

Not to say people will not fight it, but it will be under the guise that we need to conserve energy.

People cut electricity usage, power companies raise the rates per KwH to cover costs + expected profits. I am on an off-peak plan to save $$, basically no dishwasher or washer/dryer between 8am/8pm. My wife calls me the Power Gestapo, as i turn off the TV if i go outside to grill a hot dog, but if everyone was like me, and worked hard to cut the light bill, than they'd just raise the rates.

can anyone say Civil War in my lifetime? (I'm 27) And not talking about energy conservation, more along the lines of over-supervision by the gov't?
