How many games will it take for next years class to like what they see on O?

I hope we come out and put up BIG numbers.(QB willing) I know the WKY game won't be the one to base it on but if we come out and rack up pts against UCLA and then if we can go put some up on FL I think we will start rolling in the recruits on O for sure.

What do you guys think?

Two if we actually get it done. You're right--WKU won't be the one to base it off. But if we can also put up big numbers against UCLA then there it'll be. Not that UCLA is a top 5 program, but they are a BCS school.

I think getting Heaps or another great QB next year will help reel in some offensive players.

I think the UCLA game will be a big factor. Norm Chow's offense against Monte Kiffin's D. Both have earned guru status. We all watched a newbie QB go from throwing 4 picks in the first half to looking like a Heisman contender in the second. As well as our offense implode. It also put the kicker in a position that he should not have been in, two 50 yard kicks he missed to a 34 yard he himself looked like had no faith in hitting.
Will we have a solid , consistent effort? Will the "D" adjust well at half time? What can our offense really do against a quality opponent, albeit at home? I think that game will tell more than any in the early going.

Pray that we can get it rolling early next year! The offense is on a razors edge, a few untimely injuries to key linemen, or a lack of production from the quarterback and it could all go into the toilet again. If our offensive recruiting is completely contingent upon next years team racking up points and yards we could be in trouble. Over the last few years, particularly Cut's last year, we really relied on smoke and mirrors to get it done. It has been a long time since we able to dictate to other teams, like I believe CLK wants to do. If we can stay healthy and get QB production we just might be able to do that again, but the odds are long. We have no right tackle, no proven QB, zero O-line depth, no difference maker at receiver or running back. What we do have is a Coach that no one has a book on, three work horse running backs, several good receivers, and 4/5 of a very experienced O-line that can hopefully be coach up and relied on to get a tough yard or two. If we can keep the games against our big time opponents close enough so that we can tell recruits "if we had you in the game against X we would have won" then maybe CLK can get us turned around if not we could be in the crapper for a long time.

Breirvol I think you are wright about the UCLA game. But don't expect to blow them out of the game this is a new coaching staff that has had time to make some changes and they are a good staff. They will be much improved from last year so will the vols. I beleive it will be a good gage to see how much we have improved.

the thin offensive line really scares me with little to no depth and guys playing out of position i'm not going to be a negavol but i will be skeptical until i see things start clicking
