I know the oddsmakers opened the line at 10.5 but that was before we announced that we were pulling out our new look. :)

I'm with Basilio, why pull them out for a game where you have very little chance of winning. I would have preferred to wait until Auburn.

lol.

Might as well subtract another 7 from the line. Georgia -17.5.

Our guys are going to be staring at each other too much.

"Damn, these gray unis are FRESH!" "Wait! They snapped the ball already??"

They're worth 100 points, of course.
No, I'm also confused as to why we're using them in a game that at the very best (if a billion crazy things happen), would be a very close victory.

based on the spread, i'd say the smokey greys are worth 27.5 points

I kiiiiiiid, but really, when we pulled out the black jerseys in 09, it was a surprise but I don't think many people thought we would beat USCe that year

you never know what can happen, but we can't make a single mistake, and hopefully cause a few for Georgia

An inspired performance this week could propel us into a good game against USCe and we could maybe pull that one out

And I am confused as to how on earth anyone might think that the color of the jersey is going to matter in ANY WAY AT ALL in the outcome of the football game.

At best, it'll make for a little more crowd noise for the first few minutes and perhaps a bit more intensity on the first possession or two. But after that, it's a football game. No one on the field cares about the color of the jerseys.

The worst thing of all is that if the planets align, the long shot comes in, the football gods are in a funny mood, half the UG team gets the flu and Tennessee is somehow able to win the game, there'll be a contingency of VN that will have complete threads dedicated to the strategic application of the smokey jerseys so as to not completely wear out the mojo too soon.

Who knows? If it changes the attitude of the players, it may mean a some difference.. However, it will not make them faster, stronger, or give them more experience.

Must be worth a lot to only be a 10 point dog. Not sure the Vols can put 10 points on the scoreboard.

The only way to find out how many points they are worth are to line up JUST THE JERSEYS without the players in them against Georgia's D and let the jerseys have a series all themselves.

Get real man, the jerseys are worth 0 points. Same with the orange and white. These next three games are gonna be rough, everyone just prepare yourself. The final 4 are where this team will be made. Fans need to realize what the "realized" before the season started. This is a process and it takes time.

Go Vols, Beat Georgia.

Top 10 reasons smokey uniforms matter:

10. Reduces visibility of Volunteer ball carriers

9. Financial windfalls abound from skewed Vegas betting lines

8. "GRAY" is an easier fit than "ORANGE" on the cheerleaders' cheer signs

"GO!" - "BIG!" - "GRAY!!!!"

7. No need for pre-game color adjustments to my television

6. Ugga will be confused as to who to bite

5. Grey is the new black

4. Georgia may forget who they are playing

3. Less work for the equipment manager on laundry day
(Those grass stains are a b%#ch on white pants)

2. Commutes prison escapee jokes for at least one week

1. Offers Volnation a riveting thread topic!

Probably because someone has let CBJ know that VN has gone bat crazy and we have legions of fans that need to be talked down from the ledge over being 3-2, so he's trying to give some pathetic souls some hope I guess.

zero. players execution is what determines that, not the jersey's they have on.. I know, you were being sarcastic. :)

Unless we can get some ringers to slip into the new uni's, they are worth ZERO points. The way GA looked against LSU, I am surprised the spread isn't more. If we play a perfect game, and we cause a few turnovers, and make them pay for them, then we've got a shot at an upset.

So I'm trying to figure out how gray uniforms are going to help recruiting, if we get destroyed in said gray uniforms.

I'm not saying we definitely get destroyed, but why would gray uniforms overcome a beatdown in recruits' minds? Other than I guess "Wow I can come in and tear it up here because they suck!"?
