How many scholarships available for the 2011 class?

I think we can only backcount 2 and bring in a max of 27 new players in the fall of '11.

Don't hold me to that, but that's what I'm thinking at the moment.

Well, he gave us 26 for the '10 class and the Max is 28. So, wouldn't that mean we would have 2 spots available to backcount and be able to sign 27?

Depends on who officially gets in, but we can only sign 28 total, with 3 back counting and 25 going to the '11 class. Anyone else signing would go JUCO or PREP.

If this happens and we oversign, do the coaches just go to the guy they like the least and say, "Sorry, we have to cut someone and you're going to have to go to Juco?" Is the player at that point allowed to back out of his LOI and sign with another D-1 school?

You can't go over, so obviously we just wouldn't accept his LOI, even if it is signed, IMO.

+back counts for early enrollees. I believe it was mentioned that auburn had like 5 scholarships left over from the year before.

You can't have no more than 3 backcounts + 25 which is 28. eric is right, 4 of those Auburn guys and 1 LSU dude will be going to JUCO, Prep, or will be greyshirted.

So, how many more years before we have a full roster? '12?

We can get Full this year but we will still be very redshirt and Juco heavy. Many of our Sch. players will not be contributors in 2010 due to skill level and redshirts.

For us to be at full strength, I think in 2012 we will have 85 full and our prep and greyshirt programs will be back on track. That is if this staff can max out the next 2 classes..... JMO...

Due to the defections over the last 2 seasons, we are sill very young and very thin... Like I said, I think 2012 at least..
