How many still think we can't beat Mizzou

I would've liked our odds more before today. After watching us struggle and screw up today, every team on our schedule thinks we are 100% beatable... especially Mizzou.

So everyone else on our schedule thought we were going to beat Alabama? Sorry to play Johnny Raincloud but nobody expected us to beat Alabama.

Also what team left on our schedule fields a defense that is eve remotely as tough as Alabamas?

I like our chances of beating Mizzou a little better after tonight. SC threw all over them. If Dobbs starts he is a mobile QB who can cause problems for Mizzou. I think if we play good, sound football we win.

No I was too busy studying how successful transitive property is in college football.
Oh but it does work when you use it to say because Bama hammered UT everyone else will too?

Mizzou lost. They lost after USCe spotted them 3 qtrs. They lost after USCe fumbled on the one then busted a coverage for a 96 yard TD pass.

It has nothing to do with transitive properties. It has everything to do with their team. The ONLY SEC team they've played at full strength this year is Vandy.

They have a very good system but they are NOT incredibly talented. In fact, they're bottom half in the SEC.

Many of you have overestimated them. Even playing the weak OOC schedule they had, they're a 5-3 team at this point if UGA and UF had even a couple of the players back that they've lost.

If Dobbs plays smart and our OL plays how they should next weekend is a winnable game.

Who said anything about beating Bama? But there's a difference in playing competitively and being in the game at halftime and being hosed from the very first play.

And playing good, sound football seems to be our problem. Sometimes we do it; sometimes we don't. It all depends on which UT team shows up to play on any given Saturday-- and next Saturday is no different.

Is it my imagination or was there a lot of excitement and energy on the sidelines when Dobbs was getting ready to go in? There seemed to be a lot of players surrounding him and they looked to be fired up.

Team needs a spark. I hope Dobbs can provide it. Redshirt's burned-- might as well build experience for next year.

Spurrier spotted Mizzou 3 qtrs. and still beat them. Mizzou may beat UT but NOTHING has changed. They are NOT more talented than USCe... or UT. They have had a charmed season catching both UGA and UF after they were killed by injuries. Besides that, they've pretty much beaten no one.

UT was unable to keep up with the #1 and #2 teams in the country. Those teams have a marked talent advantage over UT and it showed. Mizzou simply does not have that. Again, UT might not win... but having less talent will not be a valid excuse.

Disagree. They're a more talented team. We have no one remotely like Sam to rush the QB. They're better on the DL. They're better at WR and at RB. Better overall team speed, more physical. Jmo.

The whole point is transitive property doesn't work, the Alabama game is irrelevant. Sure Missouri doesn't look as good on paper, but they're not a joke. We're a young team too that seems to have issues on the road. Considering this is a road game against a team that has played well against weakened opponents, I'm not sold on us beating them. I hope we pull the upset in Columbia though.

are you even a vol fan? obviously not. even without the orange colored glasses you can see that carolina, a good team, who THE VOLS BEAT AND HANDLED ALMOST THE ENTIRE GAME, just beat them by using their QB we faced almost the entire game.

transitive property does not apply but to think mizzou is as good as advertised after today is laughable.

Yeah that's it, throw out the "you're not a fan" card like a redneck idiot just because I don't automatically give UT a W next week.

And please show me where I said Mizzou was as "good as advertised."
