I say Jason Allen by stepping back like he dropping into coverage then taking off around that right corner of their line nailing Leak for at least a 5 yard lost.

Jesse gets 2 and 2 assists........Parys gets the assits but played a bigger roll than stats showed. Allen gets no sack! If he does he read something no one else seen.(he gets a INT ).

Look for Omar to ?itchslap some body? Simon gets his lick n' sack.

As many as it takes for us to win... :focus:

Seriously though, I only see a couple, maybe 3. I think Meyer is going to use primarily short passes, dumps, slants, screens, quick outs... and I'm guessing Leak won't run the option as much against us. We're counting on having a bunch of opportunities to lay the wood on Leak, but for some reason, I think that Meyer is going to scheme a bit different against us - both for the point of protecting Leak and trying to catch us off guard. We'll see. Personally I hope that Leak does get 5-10 carries so we can make him eat dirt. I'd love 5-6 sacks as well.

If he is as sensitive as some are saying, we should turn the "Slobber-Knockers" loose on him on every option play. If he comes down the line someone should make him pay dearly.

Remember the old addage, slighty modified: The crowd yells, "Give the ball to Chris"; The center responds; "Chris says he doesn't want the ball. "

6 sacks for the day.

The kid will fold and resort to the fetal position after Mahelona wraps him up like a burrito.

Leak can't take a hit.

Crush 'em Vols!

The Vols need to treat Leak like they did David Greene last year. If we can keep that kind of pressure on him most of the game, we will win.

Considering that we have the same guys on defense that threw DG around like a rag doll, it's very possible.

I agree totally with what this guy says. The quick outs and sweep plays is what works best against TN's fast D. I just hope that Jason Allen can get in through a few of those plays and totally wreck a gator player, it doesn't matter who but preferably Leaks weak ass. :twocents:

It usually depends on who they double team.

If they double team, Malahena, which is typical; then probably Harrell since he will have only one man to beat.

They do load up on Jesse, But they just cant afford to do that all night long.
Its so gratifying when he's double teamed and is still wrapped around the QB waist when the whistle blows.

Depends a lot on who they double team.

Usually they double team Malehona, then probably Harrell will get the most opportunities.

I would say maybe 4-5 sacks. Its harder to sack from the shotgun though.

You just can't stop Jesse... That's all!!

Well I guess you could, but it would leave 3 other guys open to make the sack.

This is more of a rules question than anything else. Is it "legal" to drill Leak everytime in the veer option even if he hands the ball off. It would make him think about it everytime he has to make the read of keep it or hand it off. So my thought is if it is within the rules and he is standing there after a hand off, put a man on him to just plant his ass in the dirt!

As for the sacks......8....really hard....with lots of swamp turf in his mouth and helmet

That's basically the tact we took with Quincy Carter back in the late 90s when Jim Donnan was running something similar at UGA. I have rarely seen a QB take more punishment than we doled out to Quincy Carter in the 1998 game. Every time he ran the option, Al Wilson put a helmet in his chest.
