Was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this?

Also, how many freshman are in our 2 deep?

I am sure I could find this out myself but was figuring there was some stat junky just waiting to pounce on this question.

So fire away...

And thanks for the info.

we have played 21 freshman and 15 walk-ons thus far.. each game, of the players playing, 35-38% of them fir one of those descriptions.

Walk-ons
Greico is playing in 2 deep on OL
Stocstill is first when a FB/HN is needed
Carr is 1st long snapper
Toney starts at nickel
Arnold and Swafford are backup DBs
Carter has been in and out as backup WR
Page was the backup for Missouri game at QB

off the top of my head I think that is it

you asked freshman
North, Smith, Croom all have started and/or been 2nd team at WR
Branisel is second team TE
Weisman is 2nd team OL
DL in 2 deep are Vereen and O'Brien
Sutton starts at corner. Foreman was 2nd team at Missouri

again from memory

From what i could come up with it breaks down like this:

Walk ons-5(any year)

FR-14 seeing significant playing time with 12 on the two deep.

SO-7 seeing significant playing time with 5 on the two deep

31 players getting significant playing time for the first time(any year)

I didnt count special teamers or guys that get very few snaps

By contrast, Auburn lists 7 FR in their 2 deep with 1 starting at OG. That's Offensive Guard, not Original Gangsta!

Anyone have any info on how many walk-ons are on Missouri's 2 deep? How many freshmen? How many sub-3-star recruits?

And some people wonder why we are so bad, and can't compete with AL, OR, MO, GA.... smh
Thanks for posting!

We would have been better off if Dooley recruited nothing but 2* and 3*s who actually stayed at UT.

It's unbelievable that our roster is in just as bad shape as it was when he was hired in January 2010.

so true.drooley just did a piss poor job period.by the time 2015 rolls around we should be in great shape with our depth issues.

Ferguson has not yet played this year. I hope he does not have to play the rest of the year. He will likely start next year.

I count 18 Freshmen and sophomores in the 2 deep and a quick check of our 8 SEC opponents and Oregon shows that each of them have at least 20, interesting fact.

Going 7-5 or 6-6 (no bowl game considered) with this roster would be impressive indeed.
