How many years will it take

I am thinking around 5 years with some good improvement in between...Decent bowl games to play in to build up the teams confidence...By year 5 it should all be in place for a solid run at the SEC title...I am very excited for the future with CBJ as coach.

Im thinking about 3 years and you can have a good opinion of the outcome.. maby not the sec in 3 years but excitement of great possibilities:hi::salute: Go Butch

I agree with three (3) but that includes competing in the SEC. This freshman class will be juniors and redshirt sophmores. The leadership factor will be very different from what we are seeing now. The talent and speed will be vastly upgraded and the experience needle will be buried. No matter what happens this year, next year will see more victories in conference and on the road. I love Mark Richt and Steve Spurrier but I believe that both are on a downward path. Spurrier is getting old and Richt has not taken Georgia to a National Championship. The pressure on him will grow to unbearable levels. Florida is simply due for a downturn. Nothing good lasts forever and they're about due for some down years. Auburn, Ole Miss and Texas AM will continue to chip away at Alabama's recruiting giant. LSU is peaking. Missouri and Arkansas will continue to rise and fall. I believe that Butch Jones will recruit and coach Tennessee to new highs and those highs will begin as his depth increases. The future is bright.

3 years from now:

Seniors: Pig, Lavon Pearson,
Juniors: Josh Dobbs, Marquez North, Jason Croom, Cam Sutton
Sophomores: Jalen Hurd, TKJ, Bates, Class of 2014 hopefully includes Adoree, Garrett, etc.
Freshman: Cecil the Diesel!!!!

We're getting there, the foundation is almost laid

It will be Missouri, part 2 this weekend. We don't match up well at all, and Auburn has a better defense. Will probably lose to Vandy as well, but this year was supposed to be a wash anyway.

Those would be their classes 2 years from now. 3 years from now, Pig and Pearson will be gone, Dobbs will be a senior, etc.

You can get at least 55 top players into a program in two recruiting classes. If you have about 30 other players that are upper classmen already on hand then you should have the talent to win 9 or more football games. I think were hoping to have a winning season this year move to about 8 next season then double digits the following year.

Unless Butch loses the team and it becomes a train wreck, I believe he will get atleast 5 years. 1. We can't afford to be looking for another. 2. We need stability in a coach. I believe by year 3 we should be atleast considered to possibly win the East. By years 4 & 5 we should not only be contending for the East, but also be contending for an SEC championship. We may not be in the game, but preseason there needs to be talk that we could and should be in the SEC championship game.

Absolutely

We all may be all Vol For Life but memories of my time with my grandfather are way better than some football game.

He passed in 2009. I still miss him.

I miss him so much I tracked down his old boat spent $3,000 more than what it was worth and refurbed the whole thing.

Absolutely. Mine passed in March of 1998, 11 months before they won the Fiesta Bowl over FSU in Tempe. Football couldn't possibly have meant less to me at the time. I just wanted him back, and I would've sacrificed all of UT's past and future NC's for more time w/him. Best man I've ever known.

Year three. Without a game changing QB. They aren't recruiting a QB so they plan on going with what's over there now.

Big thing is changing the culture. Sure, some guys like Palardy will buy in, but many will have to either graduate or leave. The apr is a sign that part of the culture is changing. It just hasn't manifested on the field yet. Also a lot of holes still on the team. No quality TE or FB. Brent brewer is not SEC. Sutton would not be starting on any top SEC team. Yes, he's good, but too much to ask for a true frosh.
Jaron Toney should never be your 1st option at the nickel. Oline has regressed. They need to get Maybin on the field.

The dline is what has really disappointed. A lot of top talent there that I expected to blossom.
