Question for the long time Vol Fan: How much did Tennessee Football lose when John Ward & Bill Anderson Retired? For me, it could not be measured, what say you?

We got Kesling after they left. Different as night and day. Ward painted a picture that could be seen by Helen Keller. No offense.

A huge loss!!! John brought so much more than just a voice, although that Voice was magical! Tennessee football has not been the same since John and Bill left, in so many ways!

Ward and Anderson have been gone for FOURTEEN years. Bill Clinton was still wagging his finger and telling us a BeeJay wasn't sex when they left.

Great Day, get over it.

He was certainly original that's for sure...Back in the days when they didn't show every game on TV, listening to those guys was the way to go...And yes I do miss them every much to this day.

I turn up the natural gas commercials during the broadcasts so my son will know John Ward's voice, if that tells you anything. We have "Touchdown Tennessee" by Kenny Chesney just to make sure.

To be fair to Kessling no one could replace John Ward.

Miss y'all John and Bill.

I miss John Ward and yes, Kessling is no John Ward.

But I remember my dad telling me he used to think that John Ward was no Lindsey Nelson.

I guess it comes down to what you grew up listening to.

I still mute the TV and tune into the Vol Network. He's 10x better than any of the TV talking heads and I really don't get all of the piling on.

Really??!? If you have been paying any attention at all, UT football has (with a few outlier seasons...) been in a steady state of decline ever since John Ward left the booth.... All these folks talking about Gruden....Pffffffffftt!!! If you want UT winning games again throw the brinks truck at JW and let the good times roll!!!
