that all the talk about BP leaving to go somewhere else has ended. The support that Pearl has gotten from the administration and the fans through all of these barbecue infractions and sanctions will keep Bruce at UT forever. Now if the national media will just stop emphasizing the lying part and report just what it was that Bruce did wrong in this silly Barbecuegate, we can get on with a great season.

The lie will be a huge part of all media coverage for TN all season. Just learn to ignore it and watch the team win. They obviously don't let it bother them why should you?

Go VOLS.

Yeah, I'm shocked they are emphasizing the fact a coach openly lied to the NCAA. What are they thinking?

I also think Ken Lay, Andrew Fastow, the other higher ups at Enron, and the employees of Arthur Andersen need to be apologized to as well. All they did was lie.

No big deal.

This. Just like the Tyler Smith, et al shenanigans they will talk about it all year. Just gotta ignore it and enjoy the best Tennessee hoops team I've ever seen.

Wonder when the NCAA letter of infractions will arrive? Probably on Christmas Eve as their gift to UT. I'm sure we'll get hit with more penalties because of the LIE. They want their pound of flesh, but I hope with all the self-imposed and Slive's penalties, they take them in consideration on how hard they come down. I can see being put on probation for a year with an NCAA no post-season tourney ban next year, and the loss of a couple of scholarships. However, I am afraid they may suspend CBP from coaching in the 2011 - 2012 season. Hope not, but they'll try to make an example of him in that you cannot get away with lying to them without very harsh penalties for doing so. The sooner they lay it out, the better. Of course, it's going to be up to June before all the dust settles. Going to kill us for recruiting this spring, and we sure need a big, maybe from the JC ranks. Next year we've only got Hall, so we need another big body that can at least play defense and hopefully be a shot blocker like Fields.

It's more than that. I think what he's really trying to say is that in light of all the negative press this has received, it's good to be able to sit back and enjoy watching us play some rather dominating basketball at this point, without having the infractions story on the forefront of our mind. It's obviously going to be publicized each time we play on TV, but we're kinda over that now. At least I am. I just want to see us play and win. We'll deal with the punishments when it's time.

If Pearl is to be the example for the NCAA, there will be no next year. The program will be done for many years and Hat will finally use a smiley emoticon over the ousting of Bruce.

We had a President who lied UNDER OATH and he got to serve out his term. But, he only lied about sex. He did not have kids over to his house for a BBQ. The latter should be a capital offense, of course.

I don't approve of lying, but hasn't Pearl already paid a couple of million dollars for it? How much more should he pay? Should the kids on the team suffer for what the coach did?

I just wish he would sign a new contract.

I'm proud of you guys for all of these positive responses. What I was really trying to say is that it would be nice if the commentators and national media are going to continue to bring up lying to the investigators (which they did during the Pitt game ad nauseum) that they put the matter in context and tell the whole story. If the general public knew about the barbecue and the photo and the basis for the fib, and if they knew that Bruce was forthright in coming forward with the truth after all, BP would get an easier go -- which he deserves in light of what a solid guy and coach he is. The Villanova coach said after the game that BP was a man of integrity and someone he respects and admires. We need to hear more of that.
