Franklin High School (near Nashville), nicknamed the Rebels, was renamed in 2020 by a woke blonde senior who wouldn't be accepted to Harvard without destroying a non approved culture. She renamed the local high school, "the admirals" (the harpeth river is 3 feet deep) got into Harvard because of it, and never came back.

I want to start a campaign to take my hometown back.

I was raised on "if you dont stand up, no one will" and have taken brazen initiatives my whole life for the people at the bottom who are never represented. The political elite class that took over Franklin needs to be fought against

I'd like to know how to get this to be VOTED ON.

THEY CHANGED THE NICKNAME BECAUSE ONLY 2000 PEOPLE ACROSS THE USA VOTED ONLINE ON A STUPID APP TO DO THIS. NO ONE I KNOW VOTED FOR THIS BS

Her name is [redacted] and I have let her know what she did is disgusting many times. I believe she is an opportunistic reconstructionist (lol) and I want to start a campaign to take my hometown back.

Try not to let 17-year-old girls get you so worked up, my man. It's OK to be butthurt, but if you're a grownup, you're acting like a psycho

She's just about my age this was almost 5 years ago and I'm 29 and 6 of my not so distant relatives fought for Johnny Reb. We have a very important statue in our square that will go down with complacent spirits and I cannot be like that, someone has to fight, no one will, so here I am. Be glad people fought for you for thousands of years to be able to be complacent in life. You likely have an ancestor that died over a 3% tax on corn.
I'm not going from Come and Take It to I take Come

So, you're a grown man. She did this when she was 17.

Again, it's OK to be mad. My HS name changed too. Felt like we lost some history/tradition there. It sucks but it's not serious enough to be harassing people years after

I want to name it back. Obviously it can be done! I am right with you on losing tradition. When they take the volwalk away because it isn't compliant with ADA I hope you remember me lol 😆

All she did was get 2000 votes across the world on a petition website I feel I could market 50k doing that cheapshot bs she did. I'm an uncivilized warrior gene man with no modern purpose and nothing to lose in this world, which i find beautiful, and sense my purpose in honoring my great great great grandfather Robert Wise II of Virginia who took a horse 600 miles through a Forrest to defend a town that is being spit on by the tribe he shot at for good reasons

Why aren’t you asking why this ignorant young person was given remotely any power to do this?

I agree. Also no one voted for it. She made a worldwide petition and only 2000 of 6 billion people voted for it. Spitting on my family grave. I don't care if you like the confederacy or not regarding my post, this is just a disgusting spineless piece of **** act from mainly the county, I don't blame the dumb girl, but I'm telling you she only did it to get into ivy league, no other reason. Sold her people out for a piece of paper.

Merle Haggard has a good song about these mother****ers and what they make him feel like when they do this stuff

Back in the day we had a similar isssue at a high school near me. They were nicknamed the “Rebels” but the name wasn’t the issue it was the mascot and maybe something to do with the confederate flag. They let the students there vote on a new mascot symbol but they are still the rebels. It was at least a compromise.

Personally I think its crap that some chick hijacked your local history and renamed your HS just so she could get into an Ivy League school if thats what really happened. If it matters enough to you to invest your time in it, I would find out what local folks AND current students think about it. If the majority of them feel the same way that you do, the political climate in 2 months should certainly be conducive to getting it restored to what it once was. I have spent a little time in WV, and there was nothing "woke" about the people or places that I saw....

That's a beautiful tale. I'm glad they stuck up for their way of life. I don't understand how franklin is arguably the most prominent TN historical civil war town and they did this. Our statue chip is next and I will defend or get in trouble trying.

Thank you for the supporting spirit brother. It means a lot to see people care about history and principles. That is exactly what happened by the way she wanted to stick out as a woke warrior and show Harvard that she destroyed a non approved culture. This is in Franklin TN where I spent a good portion of my life, my great grandfather practically had a farm taking up an entire modern zip code there.

I'm afraid with all the people moving in here that the my old HS here will be targeted we are the "INDIANS".
You know what's funny as an actual mixed native American (melungeon) descendent of a frontiersman who liked him a pocahontas, I've never met an indian who wasn't a huge, diehard redskins fan, and I go to cherokee NC a lot.

Seriously, the world has much bigger problems than the names of high schools or sports teams.

I was banned on Franklin TN Facebook and Williamson County Facebook within 2 minutes each over this.

You know what, game on. They may all go to hell and I am going to Franklin.

No liberals have to stick there nose into things that doesn't concern them and cause trouble.

Just like the names of military bases that hopefully on January 21st will return to the names that everyone knows them as.

The Gators is a racist name that should be changed. Enjoy my petition for Gainesville, where I get 2000 Tennessee fans across the world to cancel you.

Follow the logic, I have dead family members over this, it's deeper than you think

You guys are amazing people and I respect you all so much. I believe this petition will have to be so much more fair and strong, seeing how it is not "woke" than the opposition using an online app petition with voters in China and Brazil. I'll likely have to get local signatures with authentic ballots for each.

Franklin High School Rebels: The Battle of Franklin in Tennessee, which took place on November 30, 1864, was one of the Civil War’s bloodiest battles, particularly devastating for the Confederate Army. Around 10,000 soldiers were killed, wounded, or captured in just five hours of intense fighting. The Confederates suffered about 6,200 casualties, with at least 1,750 killed, while the Union had around 2,300 casualties, with approximately 200 Union soldiers killed.

Franklin High School Admirals: a total of 0 admirals have ever sailed the creek-like harpeth river in world history

Luke 12:51, which reads, "Do you think I came to give peace to the earth? No, I tell you, I came to divide it"

Do you think a Town Hall speech would be the first step? I'm not sure if it is smart to just get signatures without some formal initiating process. Maybe if I let them know I'll get 2500 signatures that are REAL unlike that girl, the citizens can vote to decide?
