How in the world will GT find a replacement in time for the bowl game that can be as ineffective as Ball was.

Did anyone, other than Tech's opponent, really want to see Ball disgrace the QB position any further?

At least this makes things easier on Chan Gailey. You know things are bad when the head coach openly admits that he is considering benching his 4 year starter at QB before the bowl game.

I have two good friends who are Tech alums who are delighted that Ball won't be playing. One of them was over here trying to get me to open up the single-malt scotch in celebration earlier.

Mr. Ball has not exactly endeared himself to his fanbase lately.

I'd like to be the GT QB if my receiver was CJ and all I had to do was get it to him before the OLine let the D clobber me.

Speaking of Tech, I understand they have done very well recruiting this year.

Playing in the ACC and being in the middle of all those players in Atlanta, I've always thought Tech should do a little better.

Academic standards, I guess. All the players with no interest in actually going to school end up going to Georgia or elsewhere.

Every GT fan that called the sports talk shows today was extremely happy Ball was not playing. His completion percentage has gone down every year 51% freshman year down to 44%this year and his yardage has gone down by over 1,000 yards since his freshman year. He is the only QB I have seen start four years and get worse with better players around him. He didn't do himself any favors with the media. He would skip media days/ interviews and when he did speak he sounded like an idiot. Last year after they lost to UGA he stated that "No one in the locker room cared that they lost to UGA because they were all going on to bigger and better things in their lives." You really alienate your fan base when you state that you don't care about beating your rival. Note to Reggie you aren't graduating and you aren't getting drafted I guess by bigger and better things you meant arena football.

Did you see Lou Holtz blaming Chan Gailey and the coaching staff for letting Ball fail?

Rece Davis asked, whose fault it really was.

Give me a break, it is Ball's fault -- and only Ball's fault. Why should a coach have to baby a senior starting QB?

you should have titled the thread:

How to screw up a decent college career . . .

and then in the body of the post, typed:

... and nobody care.
