About a month ago someone started a thread about how the vols would finish. This was posted prior to the NC State game. Now that we have beat Virginia, Morehead State and LSU handily. What do you all predict we finish now?

My prediction:

24-7 (15-3)

SEC losses to @Kentucky, @Mizzou and @ Florida.

Other toss-up/difficult games might be @ Texas A&M and @Bama and vs. Florida..

How will we finish?

14-4 tied for 1st in the SEC. Loses tie breaker with kentucky since we only play them once.

6seed in the tourney

I think we beat Florida at least once this season!!!!

I also think that in some games, we will under achieve and lose to teams that we are favored to beat.

I also think that we will be coached poorly and will end up in the N.I.T. again.

Seasons end, Stokes, McRae & Maymon will be gone.

Next season, we will be worse than this season and Martin will end up being fired at seasons end in Feb. or March 2015.

Best case: 25-6

Worst Case: 19-12

I'm going to play it safe and say we go 22-9.

One thing I know about Tennessee is this team is liable to beat Florida one week, then lose to Mississippi State the next. I think we'll lose a game or two that we shouldn't.

However, my bold prediction is that we win the SEC tournament. I think we get a 6 seed in in the big dance and lose in the Round of 32

I just don't know if I see us getting those key wins we will need to get us into the tournament. Positives we don't have any terrible losses (unc Asheville/ Oakland) but I don't see the virginia win getting us in and I can't see us beating Florida, UK, or Mizzou. Hope I'm wrong but I think we NIT it for the third straight year.

It's all relative. You need to consider who we're competing against to get into the tournament. At this point, as long as we don't lay some eggs along the way, we should get in, IMO

Lol actually I was meaning shocker that he thinks that. That dudes a negative nancy. I think will make the NCAA tourney and go through SEC play with ease

thought the same thing last year. we will see if the committee is swinging for the mid majors again.

I think I fall in your category. 22-9 is where I would predict.

How many "key wins" are now required by the committee to get in? We already have 2 at least, how many is the minimum?

I tend to think like this though I believe we could even go to the sweet 16

The first part of the SEC season is the toughest. If we get through the first nine with six wins then I see us taking at least 7 of the final nine.
