OSAA Football features its final games of the regular week, as my sliding Crimson Tide face a #2-ranked Sherwood squad. Glencoe must win it to stay in it. Two weeks ago was a heartbreaking loss to Wilsonville which came off a last-second interception on what would have been a game-winning 80+ yard drive. 28-21 was the result, as the Tide went from 5-0 to 5-3 along with preceding losses to Hillsboro and Liberty. The ol' team did pull off a win last week, however, keeping playoff hopes alive. It was a 24-21 Crimson Tide win over the St. Helens Lions in spite of what was a second half riddled with poor officiating going almost entirely against Glencoe.
The Sherwood Bowmen come in at 8-1 and ranked #2 in 5A with 28-21 loss to the #1-ranked West Albany Bulldogs. Last week the Bowmen beat their archrival Wilsonville Wildcats 17-14, a squad featuring committed future Oregon State DE/TE Carl Sommer, a 3-star prospect by both Scout and Rivals.
Glencoe is fighting for a clinched playoff berth in the NWOC's 4-seed, while Sherwood has already locked up the NWOC 1-seed and a first week bye regardless of the outcome.
