an athletic wing that can shoot the lights out and plays hard every night.

I'm not sure how many people stayed after the open practice on Saturday to watch Hubbs and JW3 shoot, but Hubbs at one point hit 7 or 8 in a row from 5 feet beyond NBA range. It was unbelievable and he made it look effortless.

I am so excited for basketball to get here. CCM has generated genuine excitement in the program for the right reasons. The team plays lock down defense, is gritty, and is fun to watch. The recruting questions about CCM can be put to bed at this point. If he manages to pull Nichols (which I think he will), I believe we have a GREAT coach that will lead us to the promised land in basketball. Like zjc said, he just beat out Coach K head to head for a recruit that Coach K wanted. I am so fired up I can hardly stand it!

Sorry for the late thread, I just got done teaching my last class and had to chime in. :)

I hope he is lights out but there is a lot of players that can drain them in warm ups and shoot arounds but it is a lot different with tall, fast players running toward you, or coming off a screen.

Hubbs definitely brings something we've been missing and that's why he excites me so much...

Yes jarnell can score, same for Tobias, and same for Hopson...however hubbs has the potential to be a game changing elite level scorer. The type that you see at north Carolina that you look at and say WOW...I wish we had a guy like that.

This is a guy who can take over a game and has the potential to go off and drop 40 if he feeling it, but will also busy his a$$ on defense.

F his junior year, suit him up!

He also will produce some dunks that will blow the lid off TBA. If he is a McDonald's AA then they BETTER make sure he is in the slam dunk contest. He is an ELITE finisher!

We've put ourselves in good shape.

I'd almost guarantee 1 of Nichols or Jw3....it's possible both, but not likely....however as i said I pretty much guarantee one of them..

Question. I had always seen JW3 listed at 6' 8", but a recent article or two said he is 6' 6". Can anyone who actually saw him Saturday verify his height?

Bleed I saw this in the Memphis Edge:

Upon Southwind senior forward Johnathan Williams III's arrival to Tennessee this weekend for an official visit, Tennessee fans painted a campus sidewalk with his Twitter handle as a virtual welcome mat.

So it's no small wonder that Williams III, who landed back in Memphis Sunday around 2 p.m., summarized the Knoxville campus as a "family atmosphere."

"Great coaches, great players," Williams III said. "It's just a good environment to be around."

Williams III said he hung out with the current team, which includes Southwind graduate Jarnell Stokes, and attended the Tennessee-Florida football game.

The 6-9 versatile forward was quick to praise Vols' coach Cuonzo Martin and his staff's commitment to developing their players.

"They work their players hard to get them ready for the next level," Williams III said. "It's just a great atmosphere and fanbase. I like the coaches, because they act like a family. Everyone's part of a big family."

Williams III has set up official visits to Michigan State on Sept. 28 and Texas on Oct. 12. He said he still isn't certain whether he'll sign in the early period or wait until the spring.

"This determines my future, so it's a hard decision," Williams III said. "I'm just gonna keep praying about it. It's no telling when God will answer, but I know for sure he will. It might be November or it might be late spring. We'll just see."

Williams III is rated a 4-star prospect by Rivals. He has previously officially visited Georgetown and Missouri.
