Ole Huey just said we have a chance too suprise and make it too the Elite Eight. I don't see it happening but it's good to see some one has some faith in us! :rock: Go Vols!

Right after Ole Jay picked UT to go down to SDSU. Just shows the consensus on this team is that there is no consensus.

he is the only talking head so far, on tv and the internet, to not pick the aztecs in an upset.

i have a feeling the Vols beat this team by 10, at least..

I actually like everyone picking UT as the upset... usually everyone is wrong on the upsets on the first weekend.

A potential Georgetown-UT second round matchup has been on the local DC radio here all day. Show hosts mostly have the UT-SDSU game as a pick-em, but they think Georgetown is in rough water if UT gets to the second round. Specifically "UT is the type of team that gives Georgetown trouble".

Interesting. Hope they're right.

I honestly don't know what to think. At times, I feel we can make an elite 8 run and then the next minute I feel we can get bounced by SDSU. Just depends on which Vols team shows up.

Considering the play of the Vols throughout the year (especially away from home) I don't find that surprising.

This team tends to play well when one of two things are taking effect: 1) no one expects them to win, or 2) right after a game in which they were blown out... Both of these apply for this game. I hope it's not too much, and they can pull out a run, go vols

I expect us to come out and play well.

If getting our butts handed to us by KY, getting a 6 seed, and 5 or 6 people picking us to lose in the first game doesn't get this team motivated to play a good game, I'm not sure what will.

I will be very disappointed and shocked if we don't play well and win the first game.

It depends on what Tennessee team shows up either the team that showed up against Kansas and UK at TBA or the that showed up against USC and UGA.

I think we all feel that way. I think they could play and win all 6 games with the rights breaks and matchups. I also could see them stumbling out of the gates and being out of the game in the first10 minutes against the Aztecs. Our beloved Vols are a real "box of chocolates'. You never know what you are gonna get.

can we narrow down this horrible inconsitency down to certain variables.

A. players performance inconsistent

B. Motivation for the underdog role ex: UK ,KU

C Road troubles of course but to lose by double digits at usc uf and Vand ?

what exactly do you all think triggers this inconsistency?
