Did anyone catch the Huckabee show last night? That guy makes the most sense of any politician. Basically he said the best way to get out of debt is to not buy things you cannot afford. Weird huh? Then his acronym for the stimulus plan:

Congressional
Recovery
Action
Program

C.R.A.P that about sums it up i do believe

hats off to MS, and SC for not wanting the money.

his hotseat segment is good, last night's dealt with the fairness doctrine. Hard to believe that there are still some people who believe that their right to speak includes a right to be heard.

say what you will, the man makes sense. His flat fair tax is probably the best fix for our tax system. His moral and ethical stands are pretty solid. I mean he makes sense, if you cannot afford something, dont try to buy it. What a concept...

I agree, I like Huck, it's Mark Lamont Hill and Ellis Hennican that I think are the idiots, at least as far as last night's fairness doctrine debate went.

yah, i wasnt sure which angle you were going to take haha. i met the guy when he was in chatt. We would be a very lucky nation to get Huck as president. You should check out his book Do the Right Thing, its a very good read.

I like Huckabee but what are thoughts on his tax plan? It sounds good but then you add state taxes on top of it and I'm not so sure. How would his plan affect a large purchase such as buying a car?

I like Huck as a personality. I think he's a great communicator. I agree with some of his policies but he's too socially conservative for me.

Had he just let the social garbage fall to the wayside and stopped pandering to the Christian Coalition loonies (I understand he's a minister and that makes it tough for him), he might have had something.

Following on the heels of Bush's eight years of pandering to those nimrods, Huck had no chance by doing the same. I just don't understand it.

Didnt Huckabee increase spending and run deficits as a Gov of Arkansas? Maybe he should follow his own advice.

The real problem is politicians all say one thing and then do another. Until they start getting voted out of office, we wont see any change.

You can't keep electing the same people back to office and expect to see any change, its not going to happen.

I know there were times during the primaries where he had a populist persona as opposed to a more fiscally conservative persona. I just can't remember the specifics right now.

Basically, he was opposite (on the Rep side) on the fiscal/social conservative emphasis from a guy like Rudy. Rudy had the mix right for my tastes.

actually im pretty sure that when he was gov of ark that they had a surplus towards the end of his term.

and we see how well "change" is going now, its a freakin joke. nationalizing BoA and citigroup. the two largest asset banks in the US?

As a stock holder of BoA I'll be highly agitated if the US Gov wipes out my ownership position.

I'll expect to be bailed out...

I have doubled down on BoA and C of late and those guys scare the piss out of me talking about nationalization. Can you imagine the retards in our congress trying to actually make decisions for a real operating company. That would be entertaining, but would last for about 4 minutes.

no joke, especially considering the assests that both of those banks own, good lord.

the assets won't go down, the equity holders will.

true. all these talks of nationalization is keeping people from investing causing stock prices to drop. Darth Obama said that "government take over is a last option" but even saying that is a possibility is going to tip the market, seems a bit fishy

I'm out of C but in on BAC. My conspiracy theory mind tells me that BOA bought CW and Merrill (brokered by Paulson and the Treasury) under a implicit or explicit agreement not to nationalize. That being said, that admin is gone and with it any behind the scenes agreement. I'm still holding my BAC though.
