Probably drivers/teams should have been fined and the initial race results remain the same. You can not realistically take one race and let it dominate the entire season. Jeff and his so-called crew/team have had all year to make the chase.

I'm not a Gordon fan in the least, but the controversy over the decision is not his fault at all. I think the problem is that it just adds to Nascar's reputation as not much better than pro wrestling these days.

I would say that if Gordon comes on strong during the Chase I wouldn't be surprised if Nascar doesn't pull some punches and "find issues" with the 24 just to make sure it doesn't look like they've favored Gordon.

Not running the 24 down, but deals are made every week of the season, should have left it at 12.

Always liked Gordon. I Understand both sides of why he should be in and why he shouldn't be in. The bottom line though is that, regardless of some of his bad luck, he didn't perform well enough to make the chase.

You have to figure in that that one race is part of the 26 races to get in the chase. I don't know that they should have just put Jeff in like they did though. Penalizing the 22 like they did with the 56 should have been the way to go. JMO.
