Huggs is not a happy man at the moment..

Exactly what HatVol said, and also, the fact that he was even this close to having them in the tournament speaks volumes for how good of a coach he is....his best player got hurt early on and they still found a way to win 20 games and it seems completely assinine to me that Texas Tech got in when K-State beat that same Tech team by 20 points on Friday...ridiculous...

I seriously doubt an organization headed by Myles Brand set out to do Bob Knight any favors. Show me a team with three wins better than two over A&M and one over Kansas that was excluded from the field. Also, Texas Tech beat K-State in Manhattan during the regular season. Syracuse and Drexel have more reason to be irate than Huggs.

Tech also got blasted on Friday by KSU.. They also had a very poor stretch in January with some pathetic losses. Drexel should have snatched their spot as the 10 seed..

Tech is a 10 seed, meaning there are a number of at large teams seeded below them. Most notably, an Arkansas team they handled with ease in Little Rock earlier this season.

But Syracuse, Drexel, or maybe even KSU should have gotten in before them.. They were absolutely thrashed on Friday by Huggies club..

As far as listing and team left out with better wins...you can't so great point...

However, I have always felt the selection committee seemsto take a what have you done for me lately approach....really I just wish for Huggs they could have got in but I am VERY bias...

Gotta agree with hat that Brand would rather have anyone rather than a Knight team in the tourny. Drexel did what the NCAA says mid majors need to do by playing tough road games and having a great overall record and got the screw job. I was VERY surprised Syracuse got stubbed.

Hard to believe neither Mississippi schools got in.....I thought the SEC would get maybe six teams in...

Hv, nobody roots harder for Bob than I do. Do I think they shoud be in the field ahead of Illinois and Arkansas? Absolutely. However, I'm quite confident that Huggs would admit privately that a team with losses to New Mexico, Colorado State, and Nebraska can't be that upset.

Stanford is the one that has me head-scratching a bit. 18-12 while fading down the stretch, plus an L on the schedule to Santa Clara, does not a tourney team make.

There are at large teams with losses a whole lot worse than one to Santa Clara. Ask Gonzaga how easy the Broncos are. Also, Stanford had about four late season losses with Anthony Goode out of the lineup.

Even at that, losing 4 of your last 5 and 7 of your last 11 is not the kind of resume that should get you the benefit of any doubts.
