I'm sure he would love to have Beasley on his squad...Didn't see what he said buy I did watch most of the game. He just doesn't have a lot to work with. You can tell he has coached them up on D but they can't score.
I'm sure there is no doubt in his mind he can build WVU, but I wonder if he ever thinks about the talent he left in Manhattan?
Huggs had a similar situation with Ruben Patterson at UC. He didn't suspend him. I think the issue Cal is dealing with is the fact he told them not to be in nightclubs. The did he or didn't he hit his ex issue will play itself out legally. However, you can't let guys openly defy your orders. I'll be surprised if Cal doesn't sit him for awhile. What would Huggy Bear do about the Robert Dozier affair if he was the coach at Memphis? I think I know but do you think it's worth all the ink?

He did sit him for the SMU game but my question was what if it had've been the 23rd? While I think, in my opinion, the issue was questionable at best regarding discipline, Cal does need to make a statement to his team that lapses in judgement can't be tolerated. Of course, every coach needs to be sure his players (19 to 22 year old guys) understand that screw ups can cost everything.Huggs had a similar situation with Ruben Patterson at UC. My gut is that Cal would have suspended him if the next opponent had been Tennessee. To this day, I believe he cost himself a trip to the Final Four in '95 by kicking Mike Williams off the team for repeated knucklehead violations, none of which were particularly serious. He did sit him for the SMU game but my question was what if it had've been the 23rd?
